Thursday (11/16) was all about quilting….we had some nice show and tell:
-that towel was x-stitched!!!
-this is the quilt that both Susie & Sandy D are doing at the same time...for the blocks - half are appliqued and half are pieced. Susie will hand quilt this over the coming winter...
-this is Leila's quilt from retreat!
-I LOVE this one....
-this is the back of the quilt above....
but I am glad we are off for 2 weeks (due to Thanksgiving) since several conversations with people during our time together were way less than pleasant!
I drove home and picked up Michael and we swung by the pharmacy to get our RSV vaccines, and then picked up Chinese food. Based on how my day went at quilting, I should not have been surprised that for the first time ever….they got our order wrong!
Michael headed out for grocery shopping at ALDI’s, and then to pick up my correct order of dinner….while I worked on quilting the dog quilt:
I am switching out the frame on XENA to get 12 foot rails so that I can do king-sized quilts. This has been in the works for several months….I’ve been going back and forth with a cost benefit analysis once I got a quote on what it would cost. I finally made a down payment on October 28th, and the new frame was supposed to be in, in 2 – 3 days. The switchout was supposed to happen on Friday (today). Well, I got a call Thursday afternoon saying only half of the frame showed up….so not sure when the rest of it will arrive, and so will have to tell my friend who has a large Christmas quilt for hubby, that she needs to take to another quilter :~(.
I got the final cast gift towel embroidered while Michael was out at a pick-up rehearsal.
*** Why, in winter, do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat? ***
Glad you and Michael are doing well and are busy. I love seeing all the quilts - they are beautiful. Wishing you and Michael a Happy Thanksgiving. Vicki
All of the quilts from Show and Tell are just magnificent, but i really loved Susie and Sandy D's quilt. Of course the cross-stitch towel was a favorite as well as the teddy bear. Such lovely work by all!
Such lovely quilts & items on Thursday!
I’m wishing you & Michael a blessed Thanksgiving. (My brother & sister get here Monday so I may not be commenting much this coming week) xoxo
Love the blue bear - so cute! How long does it take to HAND quilt something? Can you say hand cramps?
Is Leila a member of Fiber Floozies ( your other group from Connecticut that you go on retreats with)? And did June bring Leila’s quilt home to quilt for her?
