Michael headed out for an early morning ear appointment on Tuesday (7/28), while I got the rest of Iris’s Easter quilt loaded:

then loaded a new design onto my machine and started stitching.
While that was stitching out, I got my binding machine set up and started binding on one of my QoV’s:

I have 3 QoV’s of all different patterns and I would like to take them in next week for show and tell at quilting….we’ll see how I do. I spent all day on those 2 things, and after Michael left for the movies in the evening, I headed upstairs to knit and watch TV.

I video chatted with Janice on Wednesday morning (7/29) while Michael was out golfing here at SCCL. Janice and Dennis are pretty well settled into their home-away-from home (a 2 bedroom apartment they are renting while they house hunt in Connecticut) and I even got a virtual tour of Janice’s sewing room :~). The rest of the day was a repeat of Tuesday…quilting on Iris’s Easter quilt, and working on binding. I have a goal with QoV quilts…..I would like to take 3 finished QoV quilts into quilting for show and tell next week. This really is a totally reasonable goal…..2 of the quilts are quilted, needing only labeling and binding. And the top is done on the 3rd quilt. All of the labels are stitched out and all of the bindings made…I really have no excuse NOT to have these done by next week, except laziness :~).
I got the binding all finished on one side of the first quilt and moved onto the second side. By dinnertime, I finished the quilting on the Easter quilt, AND my binding was done and I had a TOTALLY FINISHED QUILT:

Michael packed my car up (what will I do next week when he is away on his golfing trip???) on Thursday (7/30) and I headed off to quilting. It was charity day and we all worked on Pocket Prayer Quilts. I couldn’t figure out why, but by 11 AM my butt was SO VERY SORE…then I thought about it. On a normal day, I sew a bit, get up and iron a bit and so on….but this day I sat for 2 solid hours just sewing!!! Not only was my butt very sore, but it took me a bit of time to stand up!!! But, we all had a good time and a lot of laughs and still had some beautiful show and tell:

-another quilt top from the class I taught...this one is TOTALLY in my colorway!!

When I got home around 2:30, I just sat and read my book for the rest of the day.
Pat stopped by in the afternoon....to drop something off:

Isn't it absolutely GORGEOUS?!?!? We bartered for her last quilt....instead of paying me, she made this travel bag for me and it is PERFECT!!!!!!!!

I was up early Friday morning (7/31) to get a backing loaded for the 3rd QoV quilt. I didn’t start quilting on it as the 108’’ wide backing was thoroughly wrinkled, so I sprayed it with water and wound it on my leader and left it to let the wrinkles relax.
I spent the rest of the day working on labeling and binding my second quilt….

and once again, by dinnertime, it was done:

Two down and only 1 to go by next Thursday….easy-peasy….right?
And 10 years ago....
*** My brain says ALASKA!!!! My heart says CARIBBEAN!!! My wallet says GO AROUND THE BLOCK!!! ***
*** I have a lot to be thankful for....but I'm going to give a special shout out to elastic. ***
*** I ran for the first time with my FITBIT on....it asked me if my life was in danger, or if tacos were on sale for a $1 again. ***

I love both of your QOV's! Iris's Easter quilt looks great and is so cute! All of the Show and Tell was fabulous! Love your new travel bag and personalized purse. Great colors!
Your QOV quilts today were just gorgeous. Thank you for allowing me to read your special label…I’ve always loved them.
Elsie and cookie were quite a pair. I'm going to need elastic when i get home!!
