Thursday was all about quilting…with a little show and tell thrown in:
-Sandy D with about a BA-ZILLION 1-1/2 inch finished squares
-Jerri, with 3 quilts made out of men's neck ties
Judy and Diane and I all kind of screwed up in bringing what we were supposed to bring to sew on…but we had a GREAT time, laughing our way through it. I did a bone-headed move on Wednesday….remember how I cut all of my bed blocks and put them in my pizza box:
but hadn’t cut my dark purple strips to make the squares? Well, I did that Wednesday night….of course I didn’t have to look at my directions because I remembered what I was supposed to cut….can you see where this was going? Even when I had more fabric than I thought I would have at the end of my strips….my brain didn’t wake up….but when I went to sew on Thursday….I discovered that I was supposed to cut 3-1/2’’ strips and 4-1/2’’ strips….but I cut 3’’ & 4’’ strips. Yes, that half an inch was a critical mistake that meant I did a lot of visiting on Thursday :~).
I was home before 2 PM, with a list of my knitting students (new class starting next Monday). I spent a couple of hours on the lanair, listening to our beautiful chimes and enjoying the weather before getting a visit from one of my knitting students…she stayed for almost 2 hours…the time just flew by….I think we are becoming friends…as strange as it may seem with our ages being about 40 years apart!!!
We had a quick dinner, then Michael wanted to watch a special show and I headed to the studio to get a customer quilt loaded up:
And a label set up and stitched out for another customer:
*** I’m not much on seizing the day….I usually just kind of poke at it with a
stick!!! ***
Love all of the tie quilts and the counted cross-stitch! I also love your customer's quilt colors and the fabric looks really 'old-timey'.
Love the tie quilts !
Yay for sandy D!
Willa’s cross stitch is always incredible. Such a sweet lady.
