Thursday (5/30) was a little about food (the rest of the caramel pecan cookies...they're a little too oozy to serve well...but boy do they taste good!):
and a lot about quilting….as it was the 5th Thursday of the month, we concentrated on one of our charities and that is the QoV quilts for our luncheon in November to honor our vets:
Lots of people were busy working on lots of quilts…and we had several tops finished by show and tell time….as well as other show and tell:
-the famous ''Loree quilt'' from her class 2 weeks ago....
I didn’t get home until after 2 PM and Michael was still out golfing, so I sat and read a new book until he got home to tell me all about how he did. He scored a 41 (they only play 9 holes on Thursdays as they generally tee off later in the day) and he was very pleased with how he played.
We had leftovers for dinner, and I interviewed yet another catering person for an event later this year….hope this one works out!!! We spent a quiet evening watching TV.

What a glorious morning it was weather-wise on Friday morning (5/31)…..we opened up all of the windows Thursday night…and it was nice and cool and fresh in the house when we got up. Michael left for an eye appointment (with stops at DOLLAR TREE and Harris Teeter on the way home) and I desperately tried to get caught up with blog entries!
It took me all morning, then I hopped up to get to Ballentyne for an electrolysis appointment at 11:30 AM. I bought Thai food on the way home and had a great lunch while reading my latest book…..very hard to put down…it’s called TIME OF DEPARTURE by Douglas Schofield and is available from the library.
I read until mid-afternoon and finally made myself head for the basement. My eyes have been really bugging me all day, and I didn’t want to make a start on Loree’s quilt…so I just sewed up some of my HST’s for a new project:
And I'm still cutting out some of the colors:
We headed to the Lake House pavilion in the late afternoon for a gathering and met some new and old neighbors and spent a pleasant hour talking and exchanging some phone numbers before coming home.
Earlier in the day I asked my honey whether we were celebrating our anniversary on Friday or Saturday…and he said ‘’why not both’’? So, it was champagne and puffy things for dinner:
-crab stuffed crescents....yum!!
and binge watching episodes of 9-1-1….of which we had SEVEN!!
And a great 10 years ago I had totally forgotten about...- https://foodandfiberfloozie.blogspot.com/2014/05/tea-flowers-tea-food-tea-guests-final.html
*** It’s amazing how much you can accomplish around the house under the threat of someone coming over! ***
*** I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, but adding more cheese than what a recipe calls for has never been one of them :~). ***
Happy Anniversary to you two 🐦 Love Birds 🐦 !
I really enjoy your “throw-backs” of the Blog. They must be so precious to you too.
