Saturday morning (7/29) I was up and out for a bike ride….on one of my passes around the neighborhood, I came upon a neighbor on the ground, with his wife attempting to get him up. I stopped to help, and another neighbor came out of the house, and among the 3 of us, we got him up. I’m going to be practicing the video I put in an earlier blog post (https://peterattiamd.com/outlive/videos/, then scroll down for the ‘’Barry get up’’ video). Falling is definitely something that tends to happen more the older we get, and getting ourselves up is something we need to practice (well, at least I do anyway)!
Anyway, after I got home, Michael left for golf. I didn’t exactly feel tired (although my sleep has been so much worse than it was on the cruise), but I did feel like I was moving through molasses for much of the day. I finally got back to quilting in the afternoon, and by dinnertime, I was done:
That's good because I am getting a new customer quilt Monday morning, and then 2 more later in the week! Michael came home after only playing 9 holes.....he's still recovering too.
I also had a little time to start laying out the blocks I’ve been making on Thursdays:
-although this looks like the right layout...it is not :~(
Of course this didn’t happen without extensive texting with BG to make sure I laid them out right :~). It’s time to start sewing them together and figure out what new project I will start for Thursday quilting…..I think it should be…..BINDING!!!!!
I stopped around dinnertime and Michael and I played an hour of cards before settling in with puffy things:
and instead of champagne (which we had to order a case of on Friday as we are out!) we each had a margarita:
and watched a new-to-us season 7 of AS TIME GOES BY….what a wonderful evening!
I need to give a shout out to CHEWY.COM. We use Chewy for cat litter, for dog food and for many of the medicines that we ordered for Cookie over the years. Their customer service has always been unbelievably good….but the other day, in the middle of the ‘’call from H_LL’’ with the bank…the doorbell rang. I stomped upstairs and opened the door to find a bouquet of flowers:
I thought maybe someone sent for my birthday (which would be totally unusual), and just plopped them down on the kitchen island and headed back downstairs to continue my call. When Michael finally got around to reading the note, they were from Chewy….with a lovely note offering sympathy on the loss of Cookie….UNBELIEVABLE!
*** I’m gonna say sky diving is probably not for me, since I just screamed when the toilet seat shifted. ***
An on line company sending flowers is unique and so thoughtful. We need more of them. Like the quilting on your walk about. Plus the fabric.
More margaRita’s please!
I think Chewy is truly thoughtful sending flowers to surviving parents. A neighbor received a lovely bouquet after her dog passed too and we were all so impressed. Glad to see they continue to do that.
