Tutorial ONE POT PASTA, totally finished quilt

My honey got picked up to head off to Emerald Lakes for golfing on Wednesday (8/17), while I grabbed another quilt from the to-be-bound pile and headed upstairs. I sewed the binding on the first side (I have an extra amount of binding there as I will bind 2 quilts with this eventually):

and Ethel was interested in everything outside while I was sewing:

I paused in the morning to do intake on 2 customer quilts. I haven’t seen my second customer in ages, and we talked for a good long while. Somehow we must have started talking about books and then the library…and you should have seen her face…her eyes got like saucers and her mouth was in a big “O” as she realized that I was responsible for the quilts now hanging there. She LOVED them!!!

When we finally parted ways I took a quick shower and hopped on my bike again to head to PT. I saw my honey coming home on the way up to PT….he was really happy with his 87 and 2 birdies!!!

I had a good PT session and when I came home, both of us were hungry, so we had dinner a bit early. I haven’t made ONE POT PASTA in ages….it's such a simple meal, but always tastes better than both of us remember…so I thought I’d do a tutorial:

This makes 4 servings, put 8 oz of pasta in a deep skillet:

-add a thinly sliced onion

-2-3 cups of garden tomatoes, diced....or 1 - 2 cans of tomatoes

-add a goodly amount of pesto (or add in basil, garlic and 2 tbsp olive oil)

-2 tsp salt, lots of pepper and 2-1/3 cups of water

-bring to a boil, then turn down to a simmer. Stir and toss pasta until most of water is absorbed and pasta is done....generally takes around 9 minutes.

-serve with grated parmesan or romano on top

Michael left for rehearsal before 6:30 and I just lounged around until finally at 8:30 I managed to rouse myself to stitch down the second side of my binding :~):

Cookie came and joined me in the kitchen:

My honey had perfect timing as he called to say he was on his way home within minutes of me putting in the final binding stitches. I stitched down the label while we watched a bit of TV and voila….another totally finished quilt (and in the men’s series too!):
