Wednesday & Thursday

I had a lovely breakfast Wednesday morning (2/7) courtesy of friend June and Biscuitville…..I bought extra sausage gravy when we ate at Biscuitville last time, and June made up biscuit mix and 3 of her homemade jams for a Christmas present last year at quilting. So, I mixed up her biscuits and heated up some gravy and YUM…YUM!!!

After that was SKYPE-ing with Janice…and then back to quilting. I finally finished up around 7 PM. This quilt is so huge, I believe I will take it to quilting tomorrow to trim and clean up!

I was knitting on the shrug again in the evening…..originally this was supposed to be done in time for the current winter months….oh well….hopefully by Nov 2024 I’ll be able to wear it as needed. I’m thinking that I’m making it much longer than when I knit it the first time…I want to make sure it covers my lower back….no matter how I am sitting, so I want to make sure it covers my butt when I’m standing. I’m going to measure it against my green jacket that I wear all of the time in the basement to get the length right.

I was up early on Thursday (2/8) to get everything done around the house that I wanted to, in order to leave at 9 AM for quilting. I set out a separate table so that the quilt could drape over the sides and not bother anyone else, and set about weaving in ends and ripping out basting. That took me the entire quilting time…stopping only for a FABULOUS cold meatloaf sandwich, courtesy of Diane :~). We had some wonderful show & tell:

-June taught a class on the ''web method'' of joining or creating blocks and some of the students showed their work:

I was home by 2 PM, and took a nap before working on more of my bed quilt blocks:

I spent the rest of the late afternoon reading my library book!

And a few more from June...

A little boy was doing his math homework.

He said to himself, 'Two plus five, that son of a bitch is seven.

Three plus six, that son of a bitch is nine....'

His mother heard what he was saying and gasped, 'What are you doing?'

The little boy answered, 'I'm doing my math homework, Mum.'

'And this is how your teacher taught you to do it?' the mother asked

'Yes,' he answered.

Infuriated, the mother asked the teacher the next day, 'What are you

teaching my son in math?'

The teacher replied, 'Right now, we are learning addition.'

The mother asked, 'And are you teaching them to say two plus two, that

son of a bitch is four?'

After the teacher stopped laughing, she answered, 'What I taught them

was, two plus two, THE SUM OF WHICH, is four.'

One day the first grade teacher was reading the story of Chicken

Little to her class. She came to the part of the story where Chicken

Little tried to warn the farmer. She read, '.... and so Chicken Little

went up to the farmer and said, 'The sky is falling, the sky is falling!'

The teacher paused then asked the class, 'And what do you think

that farmer said?'

One little girl raised her hand and said, 'I think he said:

'Holy Cow! A talking chicken!''

The teacher was unable to teach for the next 10 minutes.

A certain little girl, when asked her name, would reply, I'm Mr.

Sugarbrown's daughter.'

Her mother told her this was wrong, she must say, 'I'm Jane

Sugarbrown.'

The Vicar spoke to her in Sunday School, and said, 'Aren't you Mr.

Sugarbrown's daughter?'

She replied, 'I thought I was, but mother says I'm not.'

Talked to Susie after show aand tell Thursday. She said she was bringing in her "minis" next week. So I'm not sure what we will see but looking forward to it.

Looks like a 'trunk' show with all those mini quilts. Does she do anything in particular with them ?

Love your new bed blocks... Glad you made it threw the king size quilt. I'll have to ask June about the web-method. I don't think I'd like it, since I'm a 'pinner'. LOL Love your new line of 'funnies'.
