Michael left for golf just before 9 AM on Wednesday morning (12/1), while I settled in to SKYPE with Janice. We talked for almost 2 hours!!! After that I had time to get my blog out, throw in laundry, crank up my tunes and pin up my hair before candy making commenced around NOON. I always make White Trash first:
While I was working, Cookie was mostly hunkered down in the sun:
I made 6-1/2 runs of trash and was done by 3 PM (the big gallon bags are for the golf course staff...one for the inside crew and one for the outside crew):
just in time for my honey to come home from golfing with an 88. Sometimes I think I should give up everything else and just make more White Trash...everyone seems to love it!
I sat down for quite awhile with my legs up and an ice pack on my knee before heading to the studio. I have nothing to sew on at quilting tomorrow, so I had to get something cut! I dithered a bit about what to do next, but finally settled on a simple QoV, and got most of my fabric cut:
I had cleaned out my bucket which holds trimmings for dog beds...so of course Lucy was facinated:
We had Mexican Chicken Soup (I found it in the freezer) for dinner, along with:
My honey was in heaven with popovers 2 nights in a row. Michael wanted to watch some western movie on NETFLIX after dinner, so I putzed around my studio for a bit and then settled in for a nice long chat with Mary Lee...I got all caught up about her Thanksgiving and unpacking.
My honey made one simple change to my QoV layout and I think he improved it 100%. I actually have 11 of these orphan blocks, so he switched out one and moved another around...it went from this:
to this:
Doesn't it already look way less busy? I'm going to be incorporating some other of your suggestions along the way. I can't make more blocks however, as I have NO IDEA how I made these!
*** Friend: Is your stomach flat?
Me: yeah, but the “L” is silent. ***
Precious pic of Ethel!! What a creative husband you have!
the latest version of QOV layout looks great! Can't tell how big it is from picture, but all you really need is a couple of calm beige borders to frame it and it's perfect.
Love the change to the vet quilt! Great idea!
