My honey was up and out of the house just after 6 AM on Tuesday for a car appointment on South Blvd. On the way home he stopped at IHOP for breakfast, then hit ALDI’s, CVS, the liquor store (whiskey for homemade Bailey’s!!) and the liberry!
I started to pull together the 4 quilts I will be taking to dialysis, and continued cleaning off the kitchen table. I made up the ‘’grab & go, fruit on the bottom’’ containers of yoghurt for my honey:
and got the crockpot all cleaned up and put away.
My antibiotics were not in at CVS, so I had to change my dentist appointment to next week. ...you know, once you have a joint replacement, you have to take them before any dental procedure. Luckily, only for 2 years....so I definitely have it marked in my calendar for 2024 when I can finally stop taking them.
Michael was home by 11 AM and we watched a JEOPARDY together before heading downstairs…me to get my blog out and Michael to run through his emails.
Then it was back upstairs to finally get started on my caramel corn. I am definitely a creature of habit, but I think I need to move the making of the caramel corn up earlier in the schedule…it’s definitely time and labor intensive…and I usually like to get that stuff out of the way FIRST instead of LAST :~). Anyway, I started around 1 PM:
and finally finished up after 5 PM...Thanks to my honey for bagging up most of my production! :
It’s a good thing this is the last candy….because the buffet is FULL:
and we’ve already given away some!
We had tortellini’s and read during dinner, and Ethel had to explore the quilt bag:
And we finally retired to the media room to watch the first 2 episodes of Armand Gamache in 3 Pines….you’ve read the Lousie Penny books…right? If not, start with STILL LIFE and go in order…they are FABULOUS and you’ll probably want to move to 3 Pines with us!
*** As a grown-up, I’ve learned that all the ‘’Christmas magic’’ I felt as a kid, was really just a mom who loved me so very much. ***
*** The stages of Christmas shopping:
1 – plenty of time
2 – OH NO!!! ***
Love the mom sentiment!
