2 spinnys, 2 green quilts, Loree's new house

What a loser....dementia Don....8647!

******************************************

I was very excited to hop up on Friday morning (11/14) as all of my priority projects were over and I got to hit my spinny wheel again!  I let Michael do the honors (after he delivered my breakfast):

and this is what came up:

This is a yucky task….that has to get done!  We are changing the secondary beneficiaries on our investments and a lot of them will be charities….that takes some research to make sure they are using the money wisely….so that was how I spent my morning….but I felt really good by the time I was done.

I was quilting all afternoon on the first of a pair of quilts from a customer:

I quit kind of early (around 5:30) because I was absolutely beat.  Michael and I had a pleasant couple of hours sitting in the living room and reading our books, surrounded by our furry kids….and we talked about how perfect our lives really are and how lucky we are :~).

A quick aside...here's why I don't like to embroider on something that is already put together. My customer wanted a small label on the front of this quilt in the border....here was the first attempt:

I walked away for a few minutes and my spool of thread fell over and ended up pulling the bobbin thread all up to the top :~(. Fortunately, I was able to fix it and continue on....but it about gave me a heart attack when I first saw it:

Michael headed to a workout at the Lake House Saturday morning (11/15) and I headed to the studio to continue quilting.  It was also another opportunity to hit my spinny:

This was a perfect entry…..here’s the FPF Rainbow as it came home from the recent retreat:

I’m missing 1 last block on the top left, and the last 2 rows need to be pressed and joined, and then a border added.  I got the last blocks done, and those 2 last rows sewn together before we got changed and headed out to a celebration of life for our friend Dennis.  It was a lovely service and there were a number of quilters there as Sue (his wife) is a member of Scrap Happy…..we got to talk to a lot of people after the service and got home again around 4 PM.

I quilted for a bit and managed to get the first green quilt finished and off of my frame before dinner and TV with my honey.

I went to bed at 11:30 PM Saturday, but was still awake at 1 AM….so my honey let me sleep in on Sunday morning (11/16), and he left for golf.

I finally made it to the studio at 10 AM and got the second green quilt loaded up:

ree

and set up the program and kicked off the quilting.  All of it was done by dinnertime, AND….I got my ingredient and shopping list pulled together for my Christmas candy (my chocolate was ordered last week), and I got the inside of the FPF Rainbow all sewn together and pressed:

When my honey got home from golf (with TWO….count ‘em….TWO birdies) he surprised me with a trip to :

ree

(we have not been in a couple of YEARS!) So….we had BLIZZARDS for dinner and they were yummy!!!!  Even Freya got in on the action with 2 little spoonfuls of dad’s vanilla ice cream at the end :~).  We had a little bit of excitement on the way there….we were cruising along on Doby’s Bridge Road, when we saw at least 6 fire engines parked along a circular driveway/street on our left.  We were wondering what was going on, when after about a tenth of a mile, we hit 2 cop cars blocking the road and forcing us to turn around.  Michael checked ‘’neighbors’’ and saw this report “The Fort Mill Fire Department is responding to a wind-driven brush fire on power lines along South Dobys Bridge Road, with traffic stopped and drivers advised to avoid the area.”  So, we turned around and took route 160 the whole way.

When we got home I headed to the studio to get the second green quilt off of the frame and all cleaned up:

I had a nice chat with Arizona Mary as she is considering branching out and doing quilts for customers….so I sent her my spreadsheet and order form and we talked over a bunch of stuff.

I eventually joined my honey in the TV room for one of our favorite movies…THE PRINCESS BRIDE!

And a little bit of eye candy for you…here's Loree and Reg's new house (along with daughter Mary Jo and hubby):

And here is the gorgeous view out the back....she said when the weather is nice, they often sit on that covered porch and just check out the view:

Loree said visitors are welcome any time!!!

*** I'm not afraid of aging....just stairs.....tiny print....and chairs/toilets that sit too low! ***
