*************************************

I headed out to Susie’s house on Tuesday morning (11/23) for a lesson in toffee making:

Susie makes THE BEST TOFFEE…period!!!! She’s shared the recipe several times….but I just wanted to see her make it….thank goodness I did because I picked up many tips and hope to try it on my own soon! The only problem is…it will be a challenge not to eat it all in one sitting :~).

Pat came by after I got home to drop off some fabric and batting someone donated to her (and yes Janice….it will be coming your way to look at :~)…and Michael got home from his errands (chiro, CVS, gas) while she was there. We talked for a bit, but eventually I headed downstairs to keep working on loading something onto Xena. I paused for a bit at the beginning while Michael and I had a lovely chat with Sue (his sister). They are in DC for Thanksgiving, visiting kids and grandkids.

I got my Bento Box (warm colors) basted:

and was excited to watch Michael continue to layout my 4 patches:

I was excited that is, until I realized just how many blocks will be in this quilt….224!!!! I know that’s nothing for Janice, nor you either Sandy D….but for me that’s WAY TOO MANY! To give you some perspective…..most of my quilts are 20 blocks…and some even make it to 30…..but 224….INSANE!!! I want to start something new in the worst way…but I’d better hold off and start sewing this new quilt together first. Somehow the kitties always know when something is up on the design wall…and they play with the flannel backed table cloths until blocks start to fall off!!!

I had a lovely and relaxing late afternoon 2 hour chat with Mary Lee and got all caught up on her news. I loved hearing all about her unpacking...and the nail biting trip that was the moving van trying to make it up her driveway!!!

We had lasagna for dinner and I started to sew up the 4 patch quilt before joining Michael to watch TV.

BTW - ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL new season starts January 9th!!!

Kudos to Michael for the 4 patch layout! Gives it some movement instead of just a scrap look.
