Michael made eggs and biscuits for breakfast on Thursday (12/26)….then he headed out for a long walk with Freya and I headed downstairs, hoping to finish quilting on the Disappearing 9 patch.  I worked on it for a while, then came upstairs to SKYPE with AJ……until this happened:

The fire department came by to install our new smoke detectors.  As it turns out, we will be returning 2 of them to exchange for 2 dual purpose ones (both smoke and carbon monoxide) at the firemen’s suggestion.  A friend's daughter's house burned to the ground before Christmas, and in the course of talking about it we found out that smoke detectors generally last 10 years....ours were 18 years old!!! Naturally all 4 of the fire fighters got Christmas goodies as they left! But when I saw the big truck out front....I told them my neighbors were going to think we were DEAD!!!

-saying good-bye!!

Michael and I sat and read after that for over an hour, when I finally headed back to the studio to finish the quilt, while Michael headed to the shower.  By the time I came upstairs for dinner just before 7 PM, the quilting was done:

We had leftover pizza, and spring rolls for dinner, then settled in with knitting to watch  THE HOLIDAY.

Michael had another call with the blood pressure clinic on Friday morning (12/27)…they are adjusting his medication and will call again in a week.  After that he did a few chores around the house, then got picked up for a guy’s luncheon at the BIG VIEW DINER.  I headed to the studio and got a quilt for Loree loaded up:

I got the program set up and a bit of quilting done:

before joining my honey for a dinner of leftovers and watching the first 2 episodes of THE MARLOW MURDER CLUB (Ed & Carol….another excellent watch on PASSPORT!!)

I did a bit of quilting on Saturday morning (12/28) before heading to Waxhaw to pick up Mexican food and taking it to Susan’s house.  She wanted to treat me to lunch…and we haven’t seen each other in MONTHS….and lots has happened in her life during that time…and we talked for FOUR HOURS!!!!!  It was wonderful!!!  I didn’t get home until 4:30 PM, and we planned another luncheon after Susan gets some tests out of the way in early in January.

Michael and I had leftovers for dinner and watched the last 2 episodes of THE MARLOW MURDERS……EXCELLENT!!!!

And 10 years ago....I had so much fun with the '12 days of Christmas''...I really should do it again!!
