While lying in bed on Monday morning (2/13), I convinced myself that it was time to load up the 5th and final quilt from a former member of Scrap Happy. She came back to our group and indicated that she was not going to be quilting anymore, and asked if she could give us her un-quilted tops. I’ve done 4 of them…and this is the final one…they’ve all been HUGE, well pieced with beautiful fabrics, the only problem is the borders were also all huge and not measured correctly. This quilt did not have any fabric for binding, so I’ve decided to cut off the outer border, which can then be used as binding, and it will also hopefully eliminate the inevitable pleats that would occur. It took awhile, but finally I had the outer border off, and I got the quilt basted:
and set up the program.
Michael spent a lot of the weekend workind on cards...the kids are coming for a visit next week, and we hope to have an early birthday party for AJ, and here's her card:
I'm trying to show you the 3-D effect:
Michael came downstairs for a bit in the afternoon and worked more on the OBW:
We both had salads for dinner, so that we could each have another piece of birthday cake! And we watched the final episode THE RETURN OF THE JEDI of the STAR WARS trilogy.
