I spent Tuesday morning (1/11) in the kitchen, making a rum cake (which for once came out of the bundt pan PERFECTLY)…

I’ve just had a hankering for one lately, so that was on tap this morning. It’s also FREEZING here today….so Italian Wedding Soup is in the crockpot. My babies were basking in the sun while I was working:

YES!!!! Arizona Mary is here!!!!! We haven’t stopped talking since she got in the car!!! She must have gotten up SEVERAL cracks before dawn, because she texted me at 6:02 AM her time saying she had just boarded. She had a quick half a sandwich when she got here, and then we got busy:

Her 108’’ by 108’’ backing was loaded before dinner. We had Italian Wedding Soup and :

yes, popovers!! AZ Mary said ‘’do you just eat them? Or put butter on them? Or dip them in the soup?’’ and I said ‘’yes’’!

We relaxed in the evening and watched the CALL THE MIDWIFE 2021 Christmas special, and I got a few more blocks put together:
