*************************************,
After Michael left for golf around 8 AM on Saturday (10/9), I ran to PUBLIX to get my flu shot, then spent the morning in the kitchen, finally getting some baking done (chocolate chip bar cookies for my honey, and sugar cookie cups…the beginning of Boston Crème Pie Cookie Cups for me! My Aunt Rose always made me a Boston Crème Pie for my birthday…and I haven’t had it in decades. It was one of the thing potentially on the Inez Baking Tour list….but never made it. I decided making it into these cookie cups would make it much easier to share with all and sundry!):
By the time I was finished, it was time to get cleaned up and head on over to Turkey Point. Pam had a memorial gathering for Bill:
She had out memorabilia, along with lots of pictures, and talked about his life a bit and how they first met....it was a lovely gathering. I was home just before 3 PM, in time for my honey to go and get his flu shot….so I headed downstairs to finally get the blog out. After that, I buckled down and got the binding on the last quilt from one of my customers:
We had leftover pizza for dinner (from Pizza Hut) and finally filled out our score sheets. It got 15 out of 20 from both of us. Michael said we should have a category for re-heating, because it tasted better the second night….I agreed!
So, you know how people talk about ''bonus'' plants? The ones that seed themselves? Well, we've got a parsley plant that sprang up out of nowhere recently...and it is huge. Yesterday I finally noticed...the worms are back:
We only used to grow parsley to get these worms, which eat it and turn into beautiful butterflies.
Arizona Mary and friend Jan have jumped on the squiggle train (and yes, she said it's EASY!!)…..Arizona Mary sent me a picture of her first squiggle:
I think she's going to do a squiggle quilt out of her scraps!
*** I just ordered a life alert bracelet....so if I get a life, I'll be notified immediately. ***
So we shouldn't kill the worms on the parsley? Did not know that. How about the worms on tomato plants?? I have found worms on something in the garden with little worms on them. I was told not to kill them as they are hosts and would turn into butterflies after the host worm died. Oh how God works his magic.
