Breakfast on the lanair, Teal Splendor, Lady Locks class!!

My honey had breakfast out on the lanair Sunday morning (6/9):

and while I really enjoyed my overnight oats…I must admit his looked so good I was totally jealous!  The last 2 mornings the temps have been in the 60’s when we got up, so we opened up the house for several hours….it was lovely!

I headed downstairs and continued to quilt on Leila’s quilt.  While I was stitching on Leila’s quilt….I really pushed myself to work on Teal Splendor….with excellent results:

I had hoped to finish Leila’s quilt by the time I quit, but by 7 PM I still had 2-1/2 rows to go, so I called it quits and headed upstairs for dinner.

My honey and I were both up at 6 AM on Monday (6/10)…he had a very early tee time and asked me to make him a to-go breakfast; I made a breakfast sandwich with 2 slices of bread, 2 eggs, mushrooms, bacon and Swiss cheese and he called me from the course to say it was the best sandwich he’d ever had in his life :~)

I came home and got banana bread in the oven (instead of 2 big loaves, I made 1 big and 3 small so that the small could be distributed to some neighbors):

and cleaned up the kitchen, and then since the oven was on and Michael’s cookie jar was empty, I made 6 more cookies for him:

I hit the studio around 11 AM and got one row done on Leila’s quilt before it was time to head out (with one of my mini-banana breads) for a lesson on Lady Locks.  Lady Locks are a Pittsburgh cookie, that Inez and I made once during one of her baking tours….it’s a staple at Christmas, and at the golfing ‘’Pittsburgh Cookie Table’’ earlier this year, the organizer’s wife made a bunch.  She offered to have a class….so I was there :~)!

I took along the loaf of banana bread as a very small thank you for teaching it:

-dusting the clothespins with flour (Inez, I thought that was a great tip!)

-Nancy our instructor, rolling out the dough

-taking those puppies off of the pins while they were HOT was a challenge! But Nancy said if we waited until they cooled down, we'd have to EAT them off of the pins!

We had a really fun time and I came home with 2 containers of cookies….can’t wait to eat them…they just melt in your mouth!

I got right back to Leila’s quilt when I got home and by our 7 PM dinnertime, the quilting was done and I had it cleaned up and off of the frame:

*** If anyone gets a message from me about canned meat….don’t open it!!!  It’s Spam. ***

*** I’m pretty sure I seized the wrong day :~( ***

Did Nancy use homemade dough or did she use puff pastry dough? Also what did she fill them with?
