Cards with Diane & Mark, new Beds=Dreams layout

To celebrate the 100th day of his second term, President Trump held a rally in Warren, Michigan, yesterday. He touted his accomplishments, blasted his detractors and declared: “We’ve just gotten started. You haven’t even seen anything yet.” Like most of his events, Trump’s speech contained falsehoods about consequential policy matters and trivial personal fixations. To learn more about the facts behind his fallacies, here’s a list of 100 separate false claims Trump has made since his inauguration. Note: This is not a comprehensive list (there were well over 100 in all during this period) nor a count of how many total times he has said something inaccurate (he has uttered many of these 100 claims over and over again).

Friday (5/2) I was up and out early for a beauty appointment, then shopping at Food Lion.  By the time I got home, Pat had already started to look at Jan’s fabric for a few solids.  We spent a pleasant hour or so going through things and talking, and when she left, I ran to Harris Teeter as I had forgotten 1 ingredient for my dessert!  When I came home, I made a double batch of Janice’s Bailey’s Irish mousse….some for tonight and the rest for Laura’s quilting retreat in 2 weeks.

I cut a bit of fabric in the studio after that, but was upstairs again for cards with Diane and Mark:

We spent a pleasant couple of hours playing and talking before breaking for dessert:

which everyone loved.  Once again, Freya was as good as gold....staying in her bed and not bothering us for most of the evening:

Michael and I watched just a bit of TV after they left before we headed for bed.

I tried riding my bike on Saturday morning (5/3) after Michael pumped up the tires for me….oh my!  I am so out of shape…my thighs were SCREAMING by the time I got home and trust me….I didn’t ride for very long at all!!  Oh well….I’ve gotta start someplace…right?

I headed to the studio while Michael and Freya went for a walk.  I finished cutting borders for a project I am taking to retreat in 2 weeks, and spent several hours looking at all of my saved quilt pictures, trying to decide if something was enticing enough to do next!

I had a good chat with Mary Jo and came back to find my honey laying out blocks I made at QUAP:

Ideally, I would like to do 3 quilts with pretty much the same fabrics, but in 3 different patterns (don't ask me why....I don't know...it just seemed like a good idea at the time!)….this would be the second of those quilts:

We decided to celebrate with champagne and puffy things just because, basically because it is our anniversary month (20 years…never would have believed it!) and we’re going to celebrate ALL MONTH!!) so....mini-quiches:

of course our frozen strawberry chilled champagne:

and friend mac 'n' cheese (which to be truthful was pretty meh...we won't buy that again)

and we snuggled in to watch a couple of episodes of THE AMERICAS with Tom Hanks.

We had a lazy Sunday morning (5/4) I made apple bread and my honey pronounced it delicious!  He took Freya for a short walk after that while I sat in the living room until early afternoon, finishing up a book on my KINDLE.

When I finally made it to the studio, I worked on continuing to sew my disappearing hourglass blocks:

And every once in awhile trading blocks on the newest Beds=Dreams.  Sometimes I notice the same block too close to itself….I want to look at it for a few days first before I start sewing it together.  I quit around 7 PM to join my honey for dinner and TV.

And 10 years ago....still in California!!!

*** Each day I understand the phrase ''I'm getting too old for this'' on a deeper level. ***
