***A sad day as we finally pass over a million COVID related deaths.

Michael left early on Tuesday morning (3/22) for a dentist appointment (he needs a crown), and he stopped at the Food Lion, chiro, health food store, CVS, and Dollar Tree on the way home. I was determined to work on Sandy’s quilt…and by 2 PM, the quilting was done:

I spent another hour cleaning it up, then dropped back to my diamonds. When I was originally thinking of doing this quilt, I found 2 different ways to make blocks to put this quilt together. I originally thought I would do the first way which incorporates the small diamonds and big diamonds into one block…this is how Sandy’s was put together. Then I saw a drawing that showed the big diamonds separately, and the small diamonds were put together as 4 patches…and I decided I liked that one better. Guess what? I made the WRONG choice! Michael left for the movies and I gratefully gave up trying to layout my quilt for a visit with Paula instead! After 2 visits in 2 days, I think we finally got through everything we had to talk about.

When Michael came home from the movies, we watched TV for just a bit, and Ethel decided she wanted to relax in Cookie's bed. We wondered what would happen after I took the dog out for the last time in the evening, so Michael set up to take a movie:

Michael left Wednesday morning (3/23) to drop off our taxes, pick up a bagel, and also get lots of dirt and flowers and seeds at LOWE’s. I sat in the living room, just thinking all morning. I didn’t have a very good night of sleep and I think it definitely affected the way I was feeling…which was kinda down. Michael came home close to 11 AM and I finally got up and got dog food in the crockpot before heading to the studio to work on my diamonds. I was really struggling with the layout, but finally figured out how I could make it a bit easier, so I spent the afternoon cutting and sewing squares together. Michael came down in the afternoon, to work on his golf course building on the computer...and ended up playing with a kitty as well:

I got most of my 4 patches sewn together, and added on a background square, then printed out the pattern which REALLY helped me to finally start laying it out in the early evening:

*** My train of thought derailed. There were no survivors. ***

Laying out on point seems to make my brain go wacko too. It looks like you got it and it is beautiful.
