Well, I’ve kinda been letting everything slide for the past 4 days (has it only been 4? That has to be the fastest I have EVER made a quilt!! I just laugh when I read those pattern titles that say ''A quilt in a weekend!''), and so it was great to get caught up a bit on Christmas Day!
First up, I wanted to do something special for breakfast….so I made what Michael calls (for those of you from the northeast) ‘’Drakes Cake on Steroids’’:
-first half of the batter
-then the filling
-then the rest of the batter
-then the crumb topping
He slept in after being up late reading the night before, so it smelled like heaven and was almost out of the oven when he got up. We asked our neighbors to stop by and gave them half of the cake!
Our furry babies were lounging around while we ate:
-Freya always drags her toys to the front door, then lies there checking out everyone walking by
after which I headed downstairs to get a blog out and WRAP GIFTS!!!!! After that we had a lovely, quiet, lazy day….filled with presents (mostly books and DVD’s), and food and movies and champagne and happiness. I sneaked in a tiny bit of sewing while Michael and Freya were out walking, and so have another totally finished quilt to share:
We had a lovely Christmas and hope that you did too.
And this seems to be the new decoration for this year:
And I sent this one to my knitting students:
Q. Why don't Christmas Trees knit?
A. Because they keep dropping their needles
Very nice quilt! Love the embroidery!
I’m seeing those garage door christmas cover around by us too.
Have to tell you how wonderful and tender my Christmas Star bread was…..yummy
Oops! Christmas TIME!
What a wonderful Christmas tine@
