Hospitals in the South are running out of oxygen supply as coronavirus cases and hospitalizations soar.
Meaning.....I get most of my exercise lately from shaking my head in disbelief at the number of selfish people we have in this country.

After making gas housers for breakfast:
Michael left before 8 AM for golf here at SCCL on Saturday (8/28) and by the time I went to Food Lion for frozen veggies and got a new batch of dog food in the crockpot, it was already 10 AM.
I settled in to rip out the basting and weave in the bobbin ends on Paula’s quilt and was done by 11. I stopped for a bit of breakfast, then decided I needed to get my blog out. That took until after NOON, when I was finally ready to look at my next customer quilt. This quilt is going to be a challenge….when you load fleece, you are supposed to load the selvages perpendicular to your take up bars….but this fleece backing has been pieced, and so is too wide to load that way. I’ll have to be extra careful not to stretch it. I posted some questions about it on my FB longarming group…and got some good tips from people there. Several people have loaded backings the same way I need to load this one….so that made me feel much better about it. Even after all of the quilts I have done….I am still learning new things….and doing things differently than I used to….and I like that!
Since my honey scored pierogis for us as well as Sally, that’s what he made for dinner.
I have to tell you a funny story….we like to watch THE CHASE on TV (a trivia type game). One of the questions was ‘’if you are using fat quarters, what does that relate to?’’ and my honey yelled out QUILTING!!! :~)
So...I have wanted to make Christmas Tree Skirts for at least 10 years. Three years ago, I finally said 'this is the year'...however it took me another year to find the specific pattern and ruler I wanted to use. Anyway, 2 years ago at Christmas time they were finished....and they were beautiful...except for one small thing. To totally finish them, they needed bias binding applied around the outside and the inside. I knew they would look horrible if I attenpted it...so I approached a couple of people to see if I could barter quilting for binding, but it was a NO GO. I finally just serged the outside edge and called it good. Two weeks ago, Susie approached me to ask if I had ever found anyone to bind the skirts and I told her no. She then proceeded to tell me that she would be happy to do it!!!! Are you kidding me???? Such a yucky (to me anyway) job and I have someone offering to do it. I was at her house 5 days later to drop off the 2 tree skirts (the pattern I made, makes 2 skirts at once....opposites of each other), and 3 days after that she returned to my house to drop off the finished skirts. They are so beautiful....the binding is PERFECT!!!! Susie is a primo hand piecer and quilter and I am so grateful that my skirts got the benefit of her expertise:

I can't wait to put up our tree this year :~).
