It was another beautiful day again when we finally got up on Sunday morning (6/2). We had a leisurely breakfast and I finally made it to the studio around NOON. I had just started to load up my newest customer quilt:
when I got a call from Inez and we had a lovely, long chat and got all caught up on many things :~).
After the call, I finished loading, wound bobbins, set up the pattern and started to quilt:
This was a new customer, so we talked a lot about density (she didn’t want it too dense), and whether she wanted the quilting to show or not….she said she wanted it to blend in with the background…and let me pick the color…I think I did a pretty good job!
While her quilt was stitching out, I continued to clean out my project box from retreat…I got my blue potato chip quilt measured and labeled and hung up (with all of my other lonely tops....just waiting to be quilted):
and pulled out my second Beds=Dreams quilt to measure it for the 2 borders it still needs. By the time I stopped for our driveway party…the quilt was finished, and my project box was emtpy! Time to think about filling it for Fiber Floozies in September :~).
It was a small group for the party:
-Ken & Ginny
-Kay & Pete
-Nancy & my honey
-Ginny & Joann
but it’s been a long time since we were together and we talked about all manner of things for about 2 hours.
I also got a good picture of our first sunflower for the year:

Michael was up and out before 8 AM on Monday (6/3), picking up his regular Monday crew for golf away. I got my customer quilt all cleaned up and off of the frame, then I got my backing pressed and loaded up one of my own quilts…a recent finish from retreat. I was very proud of myself with this quilt...the blocks twist every which way...and the numbers fabric is directional, but I got all of the blocks in the same upright orientation....YAY!!!:
The rest of the day is boring for those of you reading…but perfect for me…I spent all day quilting:
and working on the next column of my Teal Splendor…it was heaven! We had leftover pizza for dinner and I knit while we watched TV in the evening.
*** If we’re not meant to have late night snacks….why is there a light in the
fridge? ***
I like the quilting on your numbers quilt
Love your new customer's quilt! The colors are very cheery. Michael and your sunflower look great also!
Light on in frig…..haha
A perfect day indeed!
