Even though it was supposed to rain on and off all day Wednesday (9/1), Michael took off for golf before 8 AM. When he got home after NOON, he said yes…they got sprinkled on a bit, but he still managed to finish all 18 holes….however it was an unmentionable score :~). He came to the studio to work on his emails, and so Cookie came with him and settled in briefly:
I worked on basting my customer quilt in the morning:
and I got one quilting pass done before SKYPE-ing with Janice at NOON:
When Linda saw my tree skirts at show & tell, she knew she wanted snowflakes on this quilt. I think she picked the perfect design and thread color...I know it looks very light here, but it is an icy blue and works perfectly on her quilt.
I had a customer come by to drop off 2 quilts at 2 PM, after which I headed back to the wolf panel to continue quilting. I quilted all afternoon and worked on some of my half square triangles:
I will be taking these to quilting on Thursday to press open and trim. These are not all of my HST's.....just a start. Janice has been making HST's with Bonnie Hunter's ruler (which I own) that she says RARELY need trimming. She's going to teach me how to use the ruler when she comes next week!!!
We decided it was time for another pizza test for dinner. This one was from MARCO’s:
They still got dinged for toppings not all the way to the edge, but I thought the flavor/crust/cheese beat out Harris Teeter pizza….of course Michael didn’t agree (when do we ever agree on anything???) It's certainly going to be interesting to see if we agree on the ''winning'' pizza :~).
I headed back to the studio after dinner, and by 8 PM the quilting was done:
*** It’s gardening season: Five weeks ago I planted myself on the sofa…and I’ve grown considerably. ***
LOVE the quilting pattern on the wolf panel ! Good choice. Wish I could see it in person !
Good job on all those HST's... Maybe you can show me the ruler and how to use it at retreat.
