We had yet another visit (very early morning) from a contactor Friday morning (8/6), checking to see if they could replace our sliding glass doors…..no dice :~(. I think that’s actually the 5th person to look at these, with no resolution in sight. Everyone thinks they work normally....even when I tell them over the phone that just loosening the screw doesn't work :~(.
Michael left after that for golf (home in the afternoon with no birdies, but a score of 81), while I headed up to the Lodge. A fellow quilter had organized a trip to FOUST and there were around 20 of us who went. We shopped at FOUST and the only thing I bought for myself were 2 spools of thread for embroidery bobbins, but I did buy a bolt of 108’’ patriotic for BG:
After FOUST we hit CAROLINA COTTON and while we were waiting for everyone to be ready to eat....a train went by:
TOO COOL!!! I had an excellent lunch at the grill (chicken quesadilla with lots of veggies).
Pat W was in my car, and over lunch she convinced me to go back to FOUST and buy this bolt I had seen for a project (Christmas gift) for AJ. I was excited because it was a short bolt (only 9 yards) until I realized it was 108’’ wide:
Anyway, when I got back to the car, I convinced Pat to go back in to get this crazy/gorgeous black and white print that will go perfectly with her Kaffe fabric:
After that we finally headed for home, arriving just after 2 PM.
My neighbor Kay came down for a visit for a bit, and after she left….I took a nap!
I still wasn’t hungry when I got up, so Michael took a shower and then had leftover chicken sausage stuff, while I eventually had a peach for dinner. We enjoyed another episode of THE GREAT BRITISH BAKING SHOW before bed.

I would also be happy to take a couple yards of that 108 off your hands. Looks like it would be a nice backing for that rainbow top I did
I'll buy some of that 108 gorgeous fabric you are going to use for AJ.
