We dropped Cookie off at the vet’s Friday morning (3/17) on our way to doctor’s appointments, as she is still not eating and the diarrhea is no better. We spent the morning getting our eyes checked and received the welcome news that despite the fact that we both have glaucoma….at present we have not lost any more sight since coming under the care of Dr Minal. That is great news….both of us always hate the ‘’field of vision’’ test, as you know there are white dots showing up that you didn’t see….but all was well! We were home by 1 PM, in time to pick up our baby who is still very sick, but they still have no idea what is going on. We came home with additional pills and liquid medicine for her, and she is scheduled for an ultrasound on Monday. This certainly put a damper on our afternoon, not to mention that Michael was exhausted after taking Cookie out twice overnight, so we basically lazed and napped until 6 PM when we headed over for dinner with Kay & Pete:
They made a traditional Irish dinner:
and we sat and talked for HOURS! Often there were 2 conversations going on at once….guess we all just had a lot to talk about. Kay made a pineapple upside down bundt cake for dessert:
which was delicious.

Saturday morning (3/18) Cookie was still turning her nose up at any food we tried to give her :~(….it is so worrisome when your fur babies won’t eat…and you don’t know why. Michael and I both loved on her a long time before starting other things in our day. My honey made me a romantic egg/cheese/toast (notice the heart of spinach on top):
after which I supported NATIONAL QUILTING DAY by finishing up the quilting on this:
I was finished before lunchtime, and worked on cleaning it up and getting it off of the frame. I made a label for it, and worked on clearing off my sewing table so that I could trim it. I got setting and corner triangles cut for my QoV
and started to sew it together…but then paused. The quilt is way too small for a QoV:
I would have to put borders on that would be at least 10’’ wide, and I’m not doing that. I considered asking Jerri if she could use it at the nursing home for someone in a wheelchair, but ultimately decided I needed to suck it up and make more blocks, so I got new strata cut and sewn together before it was time to pick up Anne and head to Emmet’s in Fort Mill.
The 3 of us:
met up with Rosalie & Pam:
and had a wonderful dinner. Anne had salmon:
Michael had seafood mac ‘n’ cheese:
while I had a Margarita/Caprese Pizza:
After dinner we headed over to the Fort Mill Theatre for a production of ‘’Now & Then’’….the set was absolutely incredible (including a full-sized jukebox and a video game):
I do not know how they do it on such a small stage…and the production was great. We all had an enjoyable time and were home by 10 PM, where we read and loved on Cookie for a couple of hours before bed.

Sunday morning (3/19) was further proof (although trust me…none was needed) that Cookie is feeling worse and worse. We have been using deli ham to get all of the various pills down her…and she has been eagerly eating that little bit, but on Sunday, she turned her nose up at even that. She spent the entire day here:
I think the back of my chair is her favorite place in the house. I spent most of the day crying while I was sewing :~(. I finally got the QoV on point totally cleaned up and trimmed. It will be handed off to a friend to complete the binding. For the rest of the day I worked on the new QoV….VERY glad that I decided to make additional blocks:
We had leftovers for dinner (our fridge is still full of chicken pot pie and Irish leftovers from Kay & Pete) and we watched DESPICABLE ME 3 in the evening, with Cookie nestled between us, getting lots of love.
*** It may be time to get in shape…I was halfway up a flight of stairs today and I considered setting up base camp and trying again in the morning. ***
*** Guess who finally cleaned their sewing room? NOT ME, but I’m sure someone out there did…and I am proud of you!!! ***
We are keeping you and your precious Cookie in our thoughts and prayers. 🙂 We hope the vet can figure out what's going on with her. She is such a cutie!
Hoping vets can find out what's wrong with Cookie. Will be thinking of you...😥
I saw the play on Sunday…laughed a lot , but then thought the ending was touching. Hugs to your sweet Cookie. Xo
