***************************************

Michael was up and out early on Tuesday (9/7) to get a crown at the dentist’s, but not before picking one perfect rose from our rose bush:

I got a label done:

and got the binding on a huge customer quilt:

I will be glad to get the 3 quilts for this customer…out of my house!

After that, I knew my honey would need something soft to eat (and would deserve a treat as well), so I made another ice box cake while he was gone:

-layer of graham crackers

-homemade pudding

-another layer of crackers

-pudding

-third layer of crackers

-and pudding

-and if you don't want a skin to form, put the Saran directly on top, touching the pudding

Michael got home just after NOON…and settled in to do his emails and wait for the Novocain to wear off. I left at 1 PM for PT, and when I got home around 3 PM (after a quick stop at the library), I settled in to read one of my library books. I had a nice chat with Linda when she picked up her quilt (the wolf one), and after main dish salads for dinner, I continued to read after Michael left at 5:30 PM to pick up Larry and head to the movies.

Kristin came over around 6:30 PM and Susie arrive at 7 PM. This is Cookie, looking at Kristin adoringly....waiting patiently to be petted:

Kristin had bought a quilt for $45 at a local antique place, and wondered about its origins…and since Susie knows all about that kind of stuff, I asked if she would be willing to come over and evaluate it.

WELL….turns out to have been made around the 1850’s…both Susie and Kristin were thrilled!! AND, Susie said it would also be valued somewhere between $600 and $700!!!!!!

After that I dragged out the 2 quilts from my mom and grandmom…the blue one:

Susie thought was made around 1890 and the pattern is called ‘’Jack in the Pulpit’’…the pink one was made later:

and the pattern is ‘’Duck’s Foot in the Pond’’ or ‘’Goose Tracks’’. As usual, it was interesting and fun to hear everything Susie knew about all of the quilts!

Instead of my regular funny, I thought I'd include these 3 very short videos...which I hope bring smiles to your face:
