Iris Valentine's top done, totally finished wheelchair quilt, SHQ Show & Tell, Michael's art class

Funny how our voting systems worked well for 44 presidents, and suddenly went bad when tRUMP lost an election.

Democrat Senator Alex Padilla has firmly dismissed claims of widespread voter fraud, highlighting that such concerns are largely unfounded. He stated, “Donald Trump and Republicans continue to be hell bent on having us believe that voter fraud is rampant, but it’s simply not true. Voter fraud rate is 0.0003%. Our current laws are working.” Padilla stressed that the U.S. election system is secure, and existing safeguards effectively protect voter integrity.

By speaking out, Padilla seeks to counter misinformation and reassure Americans that elections remain fair, emphasizing that political narratives should be grounded in facts rather than fear or false claims.

I was up early Tuesday morning (2/17) as Linda brought me TWO quilts to do on XENA!  I got the ends woven in on my QoV and started to load up her first quilt:

Iris arrived and got to work on her quilt for several hours:

and by the time she left, the top was totally done:

WE LOVE IT!!!!!!  Although I did NONE of the work....I am a VERY PROUD quilting teacher :~). She’s going to look for backing and binding fabric and then it will be time to quilt it, while she contemplates an Easter quilt :~).

I continued to quilt on Linda’s first quilt:

while working on the binding on the right side of my quilt:

and by dinnertime, both were done:

for another totally finished quilt for me:

Since it was Shrove Tuesday, I had planned on pancakes for dinner…but that was hard to schedule with Michal leaving for the movies, so we opted for the crab truck instead…with Michael continually saying ‘’I look forward to Shrove Wednesday!’’

He left for the movies and I did a gauge to start working on some idiot knitting, which never-the-less will be a:

for many months!

Michael left for golf on Wednesday (2/18) and I headed to the studio to trim my QoV and to trim Linda’s first quilt and to get her second quilt all loaded up:

I kept quilting on her quilt, and had my embroidery machine fired up as well to make a QoV label.  By dinnertime:

Linda’s quilt was complete.... and I was completely crazy from the noise of those 2 machines!!!   It is not even the end of February and I have already quilted 18 quilts on XENA this year….I don’t think I can keep up this pace!

Thursday (2/19) was all about quilting….another pretty full meeting with lots of fun and lots of show and tell going on:

I left early as I had to drive to Stallings to pick up a new foot for my Janome machine (thanks to friend Cindy for figuring out what I needed and ordering it!)  By the time I got home, I still had a bit of energy and started on a new project.

I mentioned awhile back that I got a new Villa Rose pattern using fat quarters…and I found ONE fat quarter bundle in my pre-cuts, and ended up cutting it incorrectly due to kind of not clear directions (totally not the norm for Villa Rose).  Anyway, I had that package in my project box, but I didn’t want to take it on retreat and try to figure out there how to make it work….so I dug it out and started to make the HST’s needed.  Once this top is all complete, I will use one of my new fat quarter bundles to see how I have to alter the directions, and I will get that new bundle cut for retreat.

I also need to make a new ‘’arrow quilt’’ in the size that I will be teaching in July, and make sure my directions are correct, but I won't start that until the HST quilt top is all together.

While I was working on that, Michael was at an art class up at the library....they gave out pages with blobs of color on them, and the students needed to add lines to make the pictures:

They looked really neat and I think he was glad he went!

Michael and I had the last of the beef sliders (did I tell you about those?  I always do those ham/cheese/poppyseed sliders, and recently saw a new recipe using ground beef that I wanted to try.  I wanted to try it out before potentially making it for a Thursday quilting luncheon dish….so I made it last Saturday (I think) and we have been eating it ever since…it was really pretty good!! Of course, I didn't like the amounts of herbs they used, so I really amped up the flavoring.)

Michael left at 6 for a special Paul McCartney movie, and I settled in to knit and start to watch season 6 of ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL.   Janice has already warned me to watch episode 6 with a box of kleenix!

And 10 years ago.....
