Michael and I headed out first thing on Wednesday (12/8) to buy a stove. Because I want a ‘dual fuel’ stove, our repair person recommended that we NOT go to LOWE’s or HOME DEPOT, but rather go to an appliance store and she recommended 2. We ended up at Plaza Appliance in Pineville, and when we entered the store, the first thing I said to the woman was ‘’I'm looking for a stove. I am only interested in stoves you have on site or in a warehouse’’, because with all of the shipping mess…there’s no real guarantee when you’ll get anything that has to be shipped in. We were there for over an hour, but I think we are really going to like what we picked. We didn’t buy it yet because our repair person is coming tomorrow to make sure we have a 220 connection as the new oven is electric, but the stove top is still gas.
We were home by 111 AM and Michael decided to put up the Christmas tree….aided by many furry paws:
Eventually Lucy decided to explore the new Christmas table cover:
And Cookie decided Michael knew what he was doing and she could just lie down with her head on her blankie and watch:
We both decided to read for a bit after that…and had just put our heads down for a quick nap at 12:30…when Janice arrived at 12:45!
Janice and I headed downstairs to talk and relax a bit before she began to load up her quilt:
Check out the backing (on the roll at the top of the picture)...it is minky and the colors are PERFECT!!!
We paused before starting the actual quilting to have a bite of dinner (pizza for Janice and a chicken cesar salad for me) and to head outside to watch the ISS fly overhead (a neighbor walking by asked what we were looking at, so we got to initiate someone new into the fold :~). By 7 PM we were back downstairs and Janice set up her program (here she is....pondering what design to pick):
and kicked things off:
She quilted until after 8 PM and got over half way done, and then we collapsed to watch a bit of TV before bed.
*** For anybody else that’s getting coal for Christmas, maybe we can link up and get the grill going or something… ***
