Michael left for golf before 9 AM Wednesday morning (7/17) and I SKYPE’d with Janice while laundry was going.
And after so long with not seeing any....finally there was a deer in the backyard....unfortunately she only chose to show me her rear end:
As soon as we were done, I headed downstairs to pull together the class I am teaching at quilting tomorrow….which keeps going out of my mind!!! Diane wrote me earlier in the week to ask if she could bring me a cold meatloaf sandwich for lunch on Thursday. I asked her why I was so lucky to have her as a friend and she said she knew I would be busy with the class and she thought this was what she could do to help…and honest to God, my brain said ‘’oh crap!! I’m teaching a class on Thursday!!!’’ I swear to you, I am not sure I would have shown up with class stuff if not for Diane….so, to the computer I went to pull together some notes for myself and some supplies for class. (To be fair, it was originally supposed to be taught last week....and I guess when we decided to move it to this week...it just went out of my head!)
When I got that done, Pat stopped by to drop off some books for Michael and to chat for just a bit. She has a very full schedule for the rest of the year, with many trips to Chicago to take care of Lisa (her daughter). Pat’s knee is hurting a bit and she is trying to figure out where she might possibly fit in a knee replacement! On the good news front, everything went very well with George’s surgery, although it will probably be 2 months before all of the swelling is gone…thank you to everyone who had them on your prayer list, without questioning the details :~).
My honey was home by then after 9 brutal holes of golf (the temps from 96 – 98 just seem never ending), and he worked through his emails while I continued to quilt on Sandy’s second quilt. By dinnertime I had the quilting done and the quilt unpinned from the frame:
We had more leftovers for dinner, and I got a 3 runs of a ‘’naughty tea’’ mixed up for Friday :~).
Leila has only been retired since the beginning of July, but she is determined to work her way through the backlog of binding on her finished quilts:
-the Arizona Mary quilt
-Leila really liked the pattern of quilting....
And Mary Jo is on the board as well...isn't this a pretty quilt?:
*** People who ask me what I’m doing tomorrow probably assume that I even know what day of the week it is! ***
The rear of a deer? How Queer!
