********************************
We were up and out of the house before 7:30 AM on Tuesday (11/4) to head into Pineville for a routine appointment with our glaucoma doctor. She said I have the very beginnings of cataracts :~(, but other than that we were both good. We were home by 11 AM and I spent the rest of the day getting the binding finished on Lynn’s quilt for a TOTALLY FINISHED QUILT:

I forgot my fabric report for November….Janice and I did stop at SEW MUCH FUN on our way home from retreat last week and I bought fabric. I ran out of the darkest fabric for my MIRROR MIRROR king sized quilt and need one more border and binding. I didn’t find the perfect fabric, but what I found will have to do so that I can finish that project :~).
AND…..AND….once I finished Lynn’s quilt, I hit my spinny wheel…and I got ‘’oil featherweight’’. Since I did that just a week and a half ago….I passed on that and instead started to load up a customer quilt before leaving for my dentist appointment (I broke my implant on retreat! I thought they lasted forever, but several people said ‘’5 to 10 years’’ and I’ve had it for 10 years….so we will see what the dentist says.
The dentist said ‘’the implant is still good (apparently what they call the implant is the screw that is in my jaw), but the crown on top of the implant split in 2. An easy fix with no jaw numbing needed…it should be in, in December.
On the way home it was still light….and I saw the most BEAUTIFUL, HUGE moon in the sky….I absolutely love it when I can see the moon in the ‘’daylight’’!!
I was home before 6 PM and Michel decided not to go to his monthly Mustang meeting as his eyes were still very blurry from the doctor visit, so he stayed home to watch a movie and I finished loading up my customer Christmas quilt:

I was up early Wednesday (11/5) and got the program set up and kicked off for the Christmas quilt:

and to also hit my spinny wheel:

That is a perfect answer….my first king-sized quilt has been quilted and trimmed for weeks, but I had to reclaim a bunch of fabric for binding material. I finished that over several nights of TV watching and proceeded to cut enough strips to make binding for that quilt. I think it's going to take 3 days to get it done....day 1...make all of the binding.....day 2....sew it on one side of the quilt....day 3....sew it on the final side of the quilt.
I video chatted with Janice in the morning, and then left with Michael to drop off Freya for her bath and drop off me for a massage (sorely needed after bending over a sewing machine for most of last week!)
By mid-afternoon, I finally had the 12 yards of binding cut/pieced/ironed and was ready to apply it to the quilt….but I also had to make a label. By then the Christmas quilt was done, so I spent time getting it off of the frame instead:

My honey brought in some beautiful roses from our bushes:

before packing my car so that I could head off to quilting on Thursday (11/6). My project was an experiment….I was attempting to sew my quilt blocks into rows, without them being on a design wall. I had stacked and labeled them from my home design wall, and I know others are successful at doing the sewing from stacks, but previously I have not been one of them. I decided I would just work with 2 rows at a time (so that I could still chain piece) and managed to correctly get the first 2 rows sewn as rows and sewn together before leaving….SCORE! At least I know I can successfully do this if I pay careful attention! We had wonderful show and tell:

-I had started this jacket over 20 years ago when I wanted to experiment with embroidering on fleece. I never finished it and 2 weeks ago I took all of the pieces in and asked Robin if she wanted it. With NO PATTERN she put the rest of it together and voila.....it looks great!

and I got home around 3 PM after stops at the bank and Food Lion and friend Susan to drop off receipts.
I had bobbin ends to weave in on the Christmas quilt and I got that done before heading over to Maury and Marcia’s for dinner.
We had a wonderful dinner of chili with cornbread and toppings and we introduced them to FIVE CROWNS, which they really liked and which Maury won! We paused before finishing for a chocolate bundt cake and ice cream and were home around 10:30 and went to bed after a bit of reading.
And 10 years ago....
for you Michael....*** There's a fine line between a numerator and a denominator. Only a fraction of people will find this funny. ***
*** Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are. ***
*** Exercise helps you with decision-making. It's true. I went for a run this morning and decided I'm never going again. ***

I liked the numerator denominator fine line😂
What’s with the two blocks, one star and the other a 4 patch surrounded by half square triangles. Seems like every show and tell one person is showing similar blocks….
I liked the fall leaves quilt,
One of your best blogs, ever! Great pics, super funnies, fabulous memories!
Lynn's quilt came out beautiful! She will be so touched...
