Getting my blog out on Monday (11/15) took until just after 9 AM, after which I headed to the library. I found out on Saturday that one of the librarians I am close to, has a husband going through dialysis…so of course I headed off with 2 quilts for her to choose one for her honey. And the dog statue at the library was, of course, seasonally appropriate:
Once home I made a start on continuing my quilting on the second QoV, but stopped to have a nice chat with Mary Lee. That ended just as it was time to head out to the monthly Machine Embroidery meeting. There was a ‘’stitch off’’ to be judged…3 people, one with a Viking machine, one with a Bernina machine and one with a Brother machine took 3 designs on 3 different materials and stitched them out with the same stabelizers and threads. It was a great idea and we judged all of the samples, before settling in for Show and Tell:
-Cathy is doing this tile scene...and brought 2 completed ''tiles''
-I LOVE these snowballs for indoor snowball fights!
I got home around 4:30 and I was STARVING!!! We headed to the Lodge for sandwiches for dinner, then decided that we had so many saved TV programs to watch, that Michael would watch a bunch of his upstairs, while I headed to the studio (I had furry company with me the entire evening):
I got binding done for the second Bento Box quilt:
as well as made a start on the backing:
while watching THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH…and oldie but goodie.
*** As my granddad always used to say ‘’as one door closes, another opens’’.
Lovely man…..terrible cabinet maker. ***
Also, you didn’t take photos of all the designs to show us.
What was the result of the embroidery contest
I'm with Diane who won the stitch off? Beautiful work all around on the show and tell.
Inquiring minds want to know - which machine gave the best results in the stitch off??? Lovely work by all - those bags are fabulous! Are they Pat’s workmanship?
