I know this is a shocker to some…but if there’s a book you don’t want to read….you don’t have to check it out! You don't need to stop others from reading it and you don’t have to destroy the library.

Michael left for 9 holes of golf Monday morning (9/19) and I spent the morning watching the Queen’s funeral on TV. I did get a chance to get caught up (in a phone call) with Mary Lee…and Loree dropped off my machine on her way to the grocery store (yay and hooray….I did something stupid putting it back together, and as usual, Reg figured it out and fixed me right up, as well as doing maintenance by greasing my gears….he is TERRIFIC and worth every penny of the nominal amount he charges!!!). Other than that, I was watching all-things-England.
I left before 1 PM for a Machine Embroidery meeting….Joyce (our fearless leader) asked us to bring in any and all embroidery we had….wait until you see show & tell:
-people use these for indoor snowball fights....or outdoors where they don't get any snow!
-I LOVE LOVE LOVE this table runner....but am way too lazy to ever make it. I believe friend Pat W finally made one as well...
-these next 4 pictures will all become a tree skirt
-these are table toppers made for all occasions
-I thought this was a fabulous idea...a growth chart that you could take with you when you move!
-I LOVE this one too...I think Pat W put this on a t-shirt
-I have this embroidery....some day I need to make a quilt of valor with this as a center panel
I took in my quilt as I had embroidered my ‘’label'' on the front:
and everyone LOVED the quilt, but especially the focus fabric :~). I told them it was 35 years old and Cathy said ''being that old, I would have expected it to look old fashioned, but it doesn't''.
I was home after 3 PM, and headed downstairs to get my blog out. After the blog was done, I headed back to quilting, and by dinnertime I was done…BUT, I had some areas to fix on the back (where my bobbin thread screwed up), but I knew better than to attempt it when I was tired…so left it until Tuesday morning.
And for a bit more viewing pleasure...Arizona Mary finished her ''My Kinda Town'' quilt that she started last year at the QUAP retreat:
And on the food front, Mary Jo was inspired by the pesto tutorial:
She did want me to remind people that you shouldn't be picking your herbs once they go to seed...they become bitter.
*** There’s nothing like a little tomato soup to soothe the soul….even if it’s cold…..over ice….with a celery stalk….and vodka. ***
