Monday & Tuesday

I’ve been in a little bit of a funk lately for various reasons, so after Michael left for golf on Monday (6/17), I had a bit of breakfast and read a new book all morning.  Every time I paused in reading my book…my brain said ‘’go downstairs and start quilting!’’, but I paid not a bit of attention to it!  At 12:30 PM I got ready and headed to the Lake House for a Machine Embroidery meeting.  I always like those as it is the one sure time I get to see and talk with Pat:

-yes, she embroidered her shirt....

and there’s always beautiful and inspiring show and tell:

When I got home I did a bunch of work on the computer, and was starving by the time I finished up after 5 PM.  I had a few corn chips to keep going, and worked on a secret project until Michael had his shower and made us tortellinis for dinner around 7 PM.

***********************************************

I got up on Tuesday (6/18) determined to be productive….of course it helped that I didn’t have anything to read!  Michael is picking up a new library book for me on his errands (along with a hair cut, visit to the chiro, and the post office) and I told him I need to get back to ordering 3 books at a time instead of 1 at a time.  Anyway, I was looking forward to my dinner with Pam S, and wanted to arrive in a good mood, so I finally fired up my embroidery machine and started to work on my 3rd secret project…..you should only have to wait a week or so to see what I’ve been working on.  I cut more HST’s after that, for more leaders and enders….

which got 4 strips off of my embroidery machine (a convenient place to keep things from getting wrinkled...see:)

I started this project based on something I saw on YOUTUBE, and I originally cut 2 of each of 6 colors, but I had no idea what the finished size of the quilt would be, as I couldn’t find anything that told me how big the blocks were, or how many blocks that would make.  Then I went on retreat, and Pam showed me where on YOUTUBE to expand the instructions, and I found out I really need 6 more strips to get the size I want….so I’ll eventually have to dig out all of my colors and cut one more strip of each :~(.

Anyway, after that I finally fired up XENA to continue to work on my tablecloth.  While everything else was going on, I got a chance to start watching THE GREAT AMERICAN RECIPE on PBS…..there’s a woman from Charlotte, NC…..and a guy from Fort Mill, SC!!!  And…and….wait for it……a guy from PITTSBURGH!!!  The second recipe he made used chipped ham…..I really miss chipped ham (of course, you can’t get true chipped ham anymore since Isaly’s is no more….but he did his best to approximate it!)  I got cleaned up and headed off to my weaving group at 1 PM.  Kathy (the hostess) got out at least a dozen towels she has woven over the years…and I loved all of them:

Then she modeled a knitted sweater that I loved:

Easy peasy to figure out a pattern….just I just have to figure out where to save those pictures until I am ready :~).  We had a wonderful time knitting (me!) and spinning (Pam R & Rosalie) and talking about everything under the sun.

I got home in time to make a couple of sandwiches and head off to dinner at Pam S’s house.  We talked and talked and talked and talked and I didn’t get home until around 9 PM.  Michael was still watching his movie, so I headed downstairs for an hour, then joined him to watch a YOUNG SHELDON (that we somehow missed during the regular season) before bed.

All of the embroideries are really great, but the cream colored pillow is spectacular! Such talented people!

I love Kathy’s sweater! Can you ask her for the pattern name. I agree easy peasy to figure out the back and maybe the sleeves but I’m not too sure of the front fold back section and neckline.

Pat’s shirt was lovely
