We were up and out early on Friday (10/14) for a routine appointment with the heart doctor about Michael’s pacemaker. They figure he has another 2 to 2-1/2 years on the battery before it has to be replaced. We did a bit of grocery shopping and were home by NOON.
I spent hours in the afternoon trying to pull together the secret vacation blog entry…..TOO MANY PICTURES…and trust me…I only posted about half of them! I took a break in the afternoon to do intake on a new customer quilt. Once again, Tree Tops is sending all of their quilters to me :~) My customer wants a double batt in her quilt….I’ve done this once before…but her batts are VERY poof-y…..we’ll have to see how it goes. I told her that I have 2 quilts ahead of her as I need to work on some of my own 30 quilt tops in my closet:
I dropped back to my blog entry and finally pushed ‘’publish’’ around 5 PM.
I called my honey upstairs to ask if he would make me a grilled ham/cheese sandwich for dinner so that I could start to load up a quilt, and of course he said yes:
I got the backing loaded for 2 quilts and got the first one basted:
and set up the program. You know, I made these 2 quilt tops at QUAP this year (remember Arizona Mary? The second one is ‘’charms on point’’)…..Corinne had a 4 yard piece of this fabric:
and I tried several times to get one of my friends to buy it….but nothing doing. I finally ran out of fabric for my ‘’men’s quilts’’ and decided to buy it myself. Thanks to Janice’s organizing efforts last time she was here….I went directly to my plastic storage bin of men’s fabrics and found the leftovers so that I can make binding…thanks Janice!!
By then it was 8 PM and I was exhausted, so I joined my honey for some snuggling on the couch…and TV watching (or dozing in my case :~).
*** I respect quilters that have it all together. But quilters who have fabric everywhere, can’t find their rotary cutters and have a list of patterns to make longer than their life spans….those are my people. ***
Yummy sammich!
