President Donald Trump unleashed a rapid-fire Truth Social spree, flooding his account with 35 posts in roughly 90 minutes.
The bizarre posts ricocheted from recycled campaign talking points to a victory lap about presidential power and a fresh proclamation about policing one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes.

When does this guy have time to do anything really Presidential?

We headed out for some errands on Saturday morning (7/11), but were home before 11 AM and I headed to the studio. I got a QoV loaded up, and basted and the program set up and eventually kicked off the quilting:

While that was stitching, I dropped back to the NEW QoV I am excited about (thanks to Sharon :~). I eventually shut down XENA as there were storms in the area, but by dinnertime I had made decent progress on the new QoV.

Again, cutting for the blocks is taking much longer that normal because I am not cutting from yardage, I am working with scraps….but still trying to write it up as a pattern….so that is really slowing me down.
Here's one of the difficulties with cutting from scraps.....I put on the first blue side of this block, and it wasn't until I was getting ready to add the second side, that I noticed I had a divot in one of my strips:

So, I spent some time ripping that out and re-cutting a new strip so that I could finish the block.
Our refrigerator is full of leftovers, so we had some for dinner and watched an old Tom Hanks movie (that I had never seen): THAT THING THAT YOU DO! It was very cute.

After his usual omelet breakfast, Michael left for golf course Sunday morning (7/12) trying to get in at least 9 holes of practice before his tournament on Wednesday. AND, I totally forgot to talk about his golf game last Wednesday….when he came home with an 86!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has been a lo-o-o-ong time since he had a score that low and he was thrilled. He ended up winning his flight for the day!
I headed to the studio to continue quilting my BQ Revised QoV, and working on blocks for the new pattern. I still didn’t finish the quilting, due to pop up thunderstorms in our area, and even though I had hoped to be done with all of my blocks, by 6 PM when I finally quit sewing, I only had 50% of my blocks done…..oh well…there’s always tomorrow! I have even more respect for friend Janice….who does 90% scrap quilts….one of the things totally slowing me down is trying to cut my pieces from scraps and reclaimed fabric…and it definitely takes longer than cutting from yardage.
I spent the evening reclaiming fabric from quilting my last QoV, so that I could cut more needed strips on Monday.

I spent Monday morning (7/13) in the library with the craft group…came home and had some breakfast, then headed to the studio to continue to work on my blocks. I did that all afternoon, and by dinnertime, I only needed 3 more blocks to complete the quilt:

Ed and Carol came for breakfast Tuesday morning (7/14), they just took the exact Alaska cruise on the same ship that we are taking in September. They wanted to tell us all about the ship and their excursions, and we had a really lovely time.
Michael cleaned up the kitchen after that in time for a visit with our financial planner, while I got chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies made to serve while he was here. I had sent a number of questions and he answered all of them, while also going over our portfolio and our returns for the last 1 year, 10 years and 15 years. We had a wonderful meeting, and are meeting again in August to start estate planning.
I finally made it to the studio at 2 PM, and got the last 3 blocks done for the new QoV, I love a full design wall:

I decided it was time to start sewing my crumb quilt blocks together:

Iris came by for a visit around 6 PM:

She is almost finished with her Easter quilt and is looking ahead to Halloween…she mentioned seeing some ghosts in pastel colors that she just loved, and I immediately thought of that totally fun quilt that Leila finished several years ago:

Leila sent pics…Iris loved them…so we’re going to talk about where we go next with this idea!
And 10 years ago....

I love your new QOV!
Another wonderful walk down memory lane!
