Not a pretty face....

By the time I woke up Friday morning (6/3) the left side of my face had begun to swell…I called to get an appointment with the ear/nose/throat guy, and though I couldn’t get my regular guy, I did get an appointment with someone else in the practice in the early afternoon. I headed out at 8:45 AM to pick up Susie (who moved heaven and earth on Thursday to get all of her work out of the way so that she could go with me...THANKS! :~) and after a quick stop at the library, we were on our way to Statesville. I was really dreading this trip because of how I felt…and the headache from H_LL that just wouldn’t go away, but Susie and I talked the entire way up and back….and the trip seemed to take hardly any time at all :~). I had time to sit quietly for about 20 minutes when I got home, before leaving for my doctor’s appointment.

I can’t believe he didn’t find anything wrong in my nose….it really feels like someone put out a lit cigarette on the inside! I told him he had to make my headache better or I was going to drive my car into a tree (and I was only half kidding). He couldn’t find anything that looked wrong…and even banged on a couple of my teeth to see if that might be the problem. He ended up giving me a course of antibiotics and told me to triple my dose of ibuprofen for the pain, and to alternate with Tylenol every 4 hours. I came home and was basically a miserable lump for the rest of the evening.

I slept on the lanair Friday night (there was no way I could use my CPAP as the mask hit right against the sore spot on my nose....so sleeping on the lanair keeps my snoring away from Michael :~) and actually felt a bit better Saturday morning (6/4)…although my face had continued to swell and at this point I could frighten small children!

Michael was up and out for golf and I did manage to rouse myself enough to bake the first set of cookies that I want to send with him on his golfing trip next week. The rest of the day was spent talking to friends, reading and napping. Around 6 PM we headed out to pick up a friend and go to Fort Mill Theatre for FOX ON THE FAIRWAY. Here's the set:

This play was EXCELLENT…with a surprise ending (but wait….there’s more!) that had us all laughing hard in our seats for several minutes! We were home by 10 PM and read until mid-night before heading for bed.
