And I read this on FB and it is so true:
For most of my life, I have held out hope that we haven’t had women in leadership because we simply had not trained the right ones yet. That it was coming, we just needed time.
I was wrong.
We choose men. Any man. That man.
Even a serial cheating, morally and legally bankrupt, ill mannered, silvery spoon trust fund baby is preferred over a woman. Does not matter what her flaws are – they don’t matter. She does not matter. I do not matter. My granddaughter does not matter. Any man is better.
The right women have always been here. Throughout history, in the background, being dismissed, shouted down, or ignored. Being used, but not credited.
And the cycle continues...

It felt like we hadn’t had a special breakfast in a long time….so Sunday morning (11/10), we put this together:
It tasted heavenly, and I got to sew a bit while Michael cleaned up the kitchen and put everything away before it was time to leave for our matinee I HATE HAMLET with the Union County Players.
It was chilly when we left, but not cold enough for any jacket I was thinking of….then I remembered my shrug…which turned out to be just perfect!
It was a great play, and fun to talk to the cast afterwards which contained friends of Michael’s.
We were home by 5:30 PM (booo…it was already getting dark :~(…and we had leftovers for dinner before setting in, in front of the new TV.

I spent Monday morning (11/11) in the studio and got my QoV all trimmed, before leaving for the dentist…to get a new temporary crown :~(. That seemed to take forever, even though my dentist always works fast for me! Eventually he was done and I made a stop at WALMART for a few things before settling in to nurse my wickedly sore tongue!
We’re still eating leftovers for dinner…Michael had sausage soup, while I had chicken pot pie, and then it was regular TV finished off with an episode of THE GREAT BRITISH BAKING SHOW….bread week….my favorite!
When Diane was over, she gave me a couple of ideas for the QoV on the design wall that I have been struggling with. PLUS, my almost nightly insomnia gives me plenty of time to think about quilting (that's when I solve most of my problems), so I came up with a plan. The beginning of the plan involved an embroidery....now, I have wanted to include this embroidery in a quilt since I first saw it...probably 3 - 4 years ago.....so I was THRILLED to finally have the chance:
Here's the only totally dumb thing...when I was lying in bed...I told myself the background needed to be cream....but not even my lightest cream, but more of a tan....to go with my 4 patches....unfortunately, I forgot that until AFTER this started stitching out....so I guess I will be making another embroidered quilt in my future.
Anyway, I finally got the right fabric loaded up and started stitching...AGAIN!!!!:
Finally it was done and I started to build out from there:
-green paper to confirm my quilt math was right before I started sewing everything together
I cannot tell you how thrilled I am with this....I absolutely adore it so far!

Tuesday (11/12) was a wonderful day…with nothing that ‘’had to be done’’ on the schedule! I spent most of the morning cutting and packaging up blue & red & white squares for the QoV Diagonal Stars quilt that BG, Janice & I will be making at QUAP:
I believe I have everything together now in 2 zip lock bags.
Next up was loading over 90’’ of fleece onto XENA, and starting the first of 2 wheelchair quilts:
I worked on that until it was time to leave….I’m helping Iris with a project, so showed up at her house at 6 PM. I was there until 8 and came home to knit until my honey got home from the movies around 9:30 PM.

*** This tape doesn’t even taste like Scotch? ***
Aaawwww💜💜
I totally agree with your intro to this blog! I am so dreading the next four years with this moron and his band of clowns in charge. It was so upsetting to watch the election results come in, it made me cry. I thought there was a chance this country would finally elect a woman to head our country, just as over one third of the rest of the world has at some point in history. It is heartbreaking.
I love your new QOV! The embroidery really makes it shine! The breakfast looks great too!
That's going to be a gorgeous QOV. Love the embroidered panel.
I have a wonderful wife....and a wonderful life!
