Pat's quilt, MESIG Show & Tell

Women's rights change as they travel from state to state.....men's rights do not.

I was up early Friday morning (5/15) to get XENA set up in anticipation of Pat’s visit to quilt her queen sized quilt, made recently at our QUAP retreat:

She worked on that all day:

while I got the outside borders on my One Block Wonder, and spent a bit of time re-arranging the newest HST quilt on the design wall, and started to applique the center panel of the OBW quilt.

Michael headed out for errands and a ‘’soak’’ in the afternoon, and picked up library books for me on the way home.  Even though Pat did the lion’s share of the work on her quilt….I was exhausted by the time we were done:

We started at 9:30 AM and finished up just around 5 PM.

Michael grabbed Habit burgers for our dinner and we split a container of those yummy green beans, and then vegged the rest of the night.

I was up early Saturday morning (5/16) excited because I have no customer quilts in sight :~).  I have done 42 quilts so far this year….and have passed doing 800 quilts total as a long armmer…and have been long arrming since 2014. I have learned a TON over all of those years and quilts!

I was thrilled to load up a non-traditional QoV for a friend's hubby:

and use my new chandelier quilt pattern on it (I took a picture of the backing because the quilting blends in very well and you can't really see it on the front!):

And…..I quickly became less thrilled as my breakage problem instantly reappeared  :~(.  I am getting very discouraged…..

However, after too many breaks to count on my first 2 passes, I loaded up my thread with SEWER’S AID and had no more problems….so I guess this time, it really was my thread!

My honey came by with breakfast for me to help out with my frustrations!

I finished up the quilt by dinnertime and I made a new dish for dinner…that Michael said was like ‘’Mexican chicken soup without the soup’’.  It certainly was very similar as it had chicken/beans/corn and I served it over rice :~).

I balanced our checkbook first thing Sunday morning (5/17)....does anyone else out there still do that?  Then it was back to the studio to load up another quilt…this time a traditional QoV that was made in response to hearing a couple of Veterans talking at our yearly luncheon.....they thought a lot of the quilts were VERY bright (I'm sure I'm guilty of that) and also ''had a lot going on''. So, this was my attempt to tone it down and make one more simple):

I got bread dough put together around lunchtime:

and Michael delivered 2 half loaves when he got home from working out and grocery shopping.  One went to new neighbors….and one went to a friend who is feeling under the weather.

I got the program set up for my QoV, but didn’t feel like quilting, so I spent the rest of the day appliqueing my flowers for the center of the OBW quilt…

Sometimes I think this is going to take FOR_E_VER!!!!

Michael left super early for golf on Monday (5/18) and I headed to METRO DINER to have breakfast with Iris.  We had a yummy breakfast, but weren’t nearly done talking when I got a call from my hairdresser saying she had a ‘’no show’’ and could I come now?  I LEPT up as she fell down the stairs a week ago and I was looking at not getting an appointment for 2 more months, when I desperately needed one….so I was there in a flash!

I was home by NOON and did a little investigating on the computer (looking for how long the sleeves should be on my kids sweater) before leaving for Machine Embroidery.

We had a wonderful meeting that was pretty much ALL show and tell (hooray!!!):

Michael and I had leftovers for dinner and I spent a good part of the evening getting my knitting to a good place for our Tuesday morning appointments.

And we mailed out another one of my honey's ''hand did'' GET WELL cards to a friend who needs it:
