We made a 5 hour round trip Saturday morning (8/12) to Morganton, NC to check out some puppies. Not unexpectedly, I cried through the entire visit….there are so many dogs out there just waiting to be adopted…it is heart breaking. We had to go in person to put our name on a list to be called when the puppies are ready. The bad news was that we could not interact with or touch the puppies in any way, as they had not yet had their second shots for the parvo virus. Considering that Cookie almost died from parvo just days after we got her, we understood, but we are looking forward to next week when hopefully we can interact more fully with them. We ended up putting our names on a list for 3 different puppies…and they think they will call us around Wednesday of next week. This is one of the contenders:
When they call, you have to go that day, or the next day at the latest…otherwise they move on to the next name on the list. Although I'm sure it will be difficult getting used to a puppy again, and going through house breaking again, we feel a puppy is the best chance we have of not having our kitties feel they have to live on top of the fridge for the rest of their lives.
When we got home, we were both tired and hungry, so we made some lunch and Michael vegged in front of the TV, while I read my library book. I finally went downstairs and got my blog out and unpinned and re-pinned my customer backing….it was this:
and now it’s this:
See that silver bar at the back? That’s part of the take up system and I totally circumvented it the first time I tried to load the backing.
Diane arrived at 6:15 PM and we picked up Anne on our way out to FMCP for their production of NEXT TO NORMAL...and we discussed potential puppy names in the car. Here's the FMCP set:
In my opinion, this play was a total departure from anything Fort Mill has done in the past. It was a musical about a family living with a bi-polar mom and the acting and singing and writing was SUPERB! What Fort Mill does on their small stage is just unbelieveable.
It was a long play, so we weren't home until 10:30 PM and we both read in the living room a bit before bed.
Mary Jo and I are doing a quilt together at Fiber Floozies at the end of September. It called for a layer cake (a bunch of 10'' squares from a line of fabric...so it is all coordinated and you get 42 squares), but I was just going to use yardage. Then I went to FOUST and saw a beautiful layer cake that Darlene told me was an excellent price (since I've never bought one before, I had no idea how much they were), so I bought it:
*** According to the BMI chart at the doctor's office....I'm way too short. ***
Jacey is a cutie, but I’m sure they all are, hope you get one
Fingers crossed for you and Michael getting one of the pups you wanted. Jaycee is ADORABLE!! and will match Lucy and Ethel beautifully. 😘
Jacey is just the cutest! I hope Lucy and Ethel are ready to big sisters! Really love your layer cake quilt fabric. Cannot wait to see the finished product.
Jascey is cute. What breed is it? looks like it will be a bigger dog than Cookie. Love your layer Cake.
Cuteness overload!!🐶
