It was 45 degrees outside when we got up on Sunday (10/8)….FORTY-FIVE!!!! My honey made me a beautiful egg/cheese/toast:
and delivered it to the studio, where I was starting the clean-up on the green quilt. I had a bunch of ends to weave in….the quilt took 5 bobbins, plus my thread broke several times….so that took a bit of time to get it off of the frame and trimmed:
(Mary Jo….hope you enjoy…I didn’t realize I had this pic!)
I had asked my honey if he wanted some cookies to take to rehearsal and he said ‘’yes, please!’, so I headed upstairs to make my oatmeal/jam cookies with homemade peach preserves.
Mary Jo made this recipe just recently and she went one better…and made it 2 flavored……2/3 prune filling for her, and 1/3 raspberry filling for her honey:
While they were baking I got the overnight-in-the-crockpot yoghurt packaged up:
I headed backdownstairs and got some binding made:
and put the final border on the stair step quilt:
I know...the border is still kinda wide, but that's what I wanted the size to be. I'm in the process of cutting these same strips for the second half of the jelly roll I used...and I even labeled it with the pattern name so I may have some hope of remembering what I wanted to do when I pick it up a year from now :~).
My honey was home from rehearsal around 8 and we relaxed in front of the TV.

Michael left for golf around 9 AM on Monday (10/9) and after Darlene came to pick up the green quilt (she loved it!!), I had another friend come over to watch her quilt being done. I never say no if someone wants to see the process….since most people think I just push a button…and voila…the quilt is done! I had called Cindy on Sunday to ask if she was available Monday or Tuesday (since she was next in line to be done) and she was ready! She said later that if someone had asked her how long set up took, she would probably estimate maybe 45 minutes….so she was surprised that we weren’t ready to take our first stitch until almost 2 hours had passed:
Pam - she LOVED this pattern on your pineapple quilt and was thrilled to do it on this quilt!
The entire quilt (including clean-up, but not trimming) took around 4-1/2 hours, and we both had a good time talking while things were happening. Cindy also brought along another quilt made out of the blue flowered fabric:
I was pretty tired after she left, so I just kind of vegged until it was time to leave for my knitting class at the library. Once again, I had a terrific time and 3 of my 4 students have moved onto purling. I was home by 8:30 PM after a quick stop at the grocery store, and knit until my honey got home at 10.

The quilting on the green quilt really pops! Well worth it. Hope the customer loves it too!!
All of your customers' quilts are so beautiful! I really like the watch fabric on the on the black and gold quilt. Your stair step quilt looks great! The turquoise border really pulls out the blues/turquoise fabric colors. The bar cookies look yummy!
Chuck to Chicken!!!!!
Is that blue fabric on Cindy's quilt the infamous floral we all have made up differently?
