Sally & me, St Distaff's Day, Totally finished quilt #2

He hasn't even been inaugurated yet and the idiocy begins...

-let's annex Greenland

-let's make Canada the 51st state

-let's rename the Gulf of Mexico

So, the question of the day is...what does any of that have to do with bringing down the cost of groceries, or addressing the immigration ''problem''?

*******************************

Tuesday (1/7) was a whirlwind from beginning to end.  It started with a high point….breakfast out with Sally:

I forgot to have a waitress get a picture….so we tried our best with a selfie in the car :~).  We could have sat there and talked for another hour at least…but I had a dentist appointment at 11:30 AM….so she dropped me off at home in time for a pit stop, then it was in the car again and off to get my permanent crown.

That wasn’t too bad, and I stopped to get a flu shot on the way home (in the past I have generally gotten sick in January….so I try to delay my shot until then), and also to pick up a few things at ALDI before heading home to pick up Michael and the purple quilt (and some purple jewelry that a kind friend at Scrap Happy made to go with the quilt), and head into Ballentyne for a chiro appointment.  The recipient of the quilt was unexpectedly supposed to have an appointment WHILE we were there.....but it ended up being cancelled. Oh well, I never get to see any of my dialysis quilts given out, so why should this be any different :~).

We were home again just before 5 PM and Michael headed out for his monthly Mustang dinner, while BG and I SKYPE’d for about an hour.  I had leftovers for dinner after that and knit on Michael’s sweater (while watching HOUSEBOAT….and oldie but goody with Cary Grant….SWOON…and Sophia Loren) til he got home around 9 PM.

******************************

Wednesday morning (1/8) I SKYPE’d with Janice….we bounced around to all sorts of topics as we haven’t talked in WEEKS….I think there was still more to say, but we both had other things to do so we signed off at our regular time.

I had time for a pit stop before heading across the street for my massage and then up to the Lake House to celebrate St Distaff Day with Rosalie & Pam.  I know I’ve talked about this each year for the past several years….January 7th (we couldn’t do it yesterday because Rosalie had already made plans) is St Distaff Day, the day when woman went back to spinning after pausing to get all of the Christmas stuff done:

-Pam using a drop spindle for spinning

Pam & Rosalie always spin and I knit.  We were there until 2 PM, when I left to come home and finish up a library book :~).

After that I spent an hour pulling together a blog entry, and then loading up the GINORMOUS backing for my first customer quilt of the year...I know I took a picture of it....but I can't find it, so I'll have to take another after it is off of the frame....it is totally pieced!!!

After that I started to put the binding on the second side of a quilt:

I thought I could get it done before joining Michael upstairs…but suddenly I looked at the clock and it was after 7 PM.  We talked and he said he could entertain himself for another hour…and I still wasn’t hungry….so by 8 PM I had my second TOTALLY FINISHED QUILT for 2025:

And Mary Jo wanted to see a picture of the (as unfinished) sweater for Michael.....so here it is:

And 10 years ago....
