Saturday & Sunday

Michael left for golf before 9 AM Saturday morning (1/21), even though it was still below 40 degrees!!!!!

I continued to work on the Pinwheel QoV until June showed up just after NOON, and started right in on loading her quilt:

Then she picked out a pattern, we wound some bobbins and off she went! She continued to work all afternoon, while I continued to sew on my QoV:

and also did some new embroideries for an upcoming quilt (or 2!):

And we had furry company watching us the entire time:

I don’t know how June kept going, and how she drove home afterwards as I was exhausted, but she was finished and outta here before 5 PM.

Michael and I wanted fish sandwiches at ARBY’s (they are the best!!!), and that’s what I ordered at the drive-thru, unfortunately we got chicken sandwiches instead! Oh well, we’ll have to go back this week and get our fish! And, since we watched a documentary earlier in the week on John Travolta, it was a perfect evening for Saturday Night Fever….the dancing was incredible.

I hopped up early on Sunday (1/22) and put together BG’s Spanish Coffee Cake (which I haven’t made in FOR-EV-ER!!!) and it was yummy:

Then it was off to the studio to load up a double length of blue for quilting on 2 QoV’s. I opened up my new box of batting.....and that got someone's attention:

I got the first quilt basted:

then had to take a nap…I don’t understand why at the end of the evening, I am falling asleep in front of the TV, but then I get into bed and don’t fall asleep for an hour?!?! Anyway, after that I got the quilt program set up and kicked off the quilting. I LOVE this pattern:

And I am so happy to be finally quilting this quilt, as I wanted to quilt it the moment I finished the top! I worked until 7 PM and got 3 rows done…and Michael joined me in the afternoon to continue laying out the OBW quilt:

Of course, before he continued to lay it out, he and Cookie decided they needed to check out the book first, for tips:

We had spring rolls and shrimp dumplings for dinner and I got a bit of knitting done while watching TV in the evening.

*** I hate when I’m trying to eat a salad and it accidentally falls in the trash and then I have to eat pizza instead. ***
