I got up at 6:30 AM Wednesday (4/9) to make a breakfast sandwich for my honey who left at 7 AM for a tournament. I went back to bed…and my phone rang 10 minutes later….I thought who the heck is calling me this early? It was my honey, he forgot to take any of his morning pills, and also forgot his sunglasses, so I threw on my bathrobe and headed up to the golf club to drop off the stuff he needed.
By the time I got home, I was wide awake, so I got dressed and headed to Food Lion for a grocery shopping trip…making it home in time to SKYPE with Janice at 9 AM. After that I put together bread dough and did a bunch of knitting until Michael got home from golf with an 88!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was thrilled…and that ended up getting him FIRST PLACE in his flight!
We dropped off half a loaf of bread to our newest neighbors

and half a loaf to Gale & Phil who are loaning us a hand truck for the weekend. My friend Jan has decided to give up all of her quilting stuff and asked me to come and pick it up. Iris and Michael and I will be going on Saturday to load it all up and bring it home. We spent the later afternoon outside with Antonio and his crew as they planted all of the stuff we bought at LOWE’s:

Michael loaded all of my regular quilting stuff into my car on Thursday (4/10) as well as lots of stuff from the kitchen as I did a demo on roll/yeast bread making while I was at quilting:

(I am THRILLED to report that one of the students went right home and made rolls that evening!!!)
We had lovely show and tell:

including a number of quilts from Susie. Another member of our group wants to make a Civil War quilt, and Susie brought in numerous examples to show her different things she may want to incorporate:

Susie's own great-grandfather fought for the Confederacy and she made a quilt that documented his journey

I got to start working on my new project….a baby quilt. I was beat when I got home around 3 PM and just lazed around the studio until dinnertime….we got the plants in the ground just in time as it poured down rain in the early evening. Since it was a chilly and rainy evening, I wanted to treat my honey for dinner, so we had Elephant Chicken Soup along with Michael’s favorite….popovers (look Carolina...baked in a muffin tin!):

********************************************
I was in the studio Friday morning (4/11) continuing to quilt on Linda’s fall quilt:

and to sew together the B=D quilt from the design wall. By dinnertime, the quilt was done, and I was very close to finishing my B=D blocks into columns as well.

Michael and I and Iris and Mario spent Saturday morning (4/12) moving all of my friend Jan’s quilting supplies from her house to my house. Jan feels her life is full enough right now and has decided to give up her quilting stuff. It is now residing in my front bedroom:

and I will be going through it box by box for dispersal.
I spent the afternoon in the studio…I finally got Linda’s second quilt all trimmed and got all of my Beds=Dreams quilt into columns. Thank goodness I got a reminder from Pam in the afternoon as I had COMPLETELY FORGOTTEN that we had theatre tix in the evening to the Storefront theatre.
We picked up Pam and headed into Waxhaw to see SWEEPSTAKES: ‘’Eight friends for all their lives have big ideas of what they’d do if they had money. Ronnie, a sweepstakes fanatic, enters every one, certain he’s going to win and split the money with them. And he does. It’s time to put the money where they’ve always said their heart is. Will they? Can they? Do they have the courage?’’ The play was EXCELLENT and we all had a good time!

Congrats michael on your score!!!
Popovers looking good!
Really love all of Susie's quilts! Love all of those 'old timey' quilts. Linda's fall quilt is beautiful; my favorite season! The popovers look so good! Congratulations Michael on your score! I just planted our pansies in the big pots on our front porch and they are calling for freeze warnings tonight!
I
got alittle worried when you said you were going over this weekend to get the quilting stuff from your friend Jan, first my mind played a trick on me and I thought I read Janice…..then I reread and saw it said Jan, then I worried one of us had the date wrong cause I’m flying in for the quilt retreat this weekend, the I looked back and saw you were talking about last weekend…haha
I was impressed with all of Susie’s quilts,
Can you send me a picture of the fall design for Linda’s quilt, I want to practice it
