*************************************

I headed out at 9 AM on Thursday (10/7) to pick up Paula and head to quilting. I had a wonderful time…as a matter of fact, one of the newer ladies came over to our corner and said she might have to move and sit with us because we were laughing WAY too much! One of the things we were talking about was religion, how some are very strict....and one of the ladies said one of her relatives wouldn't even wear a bathing suit. So of course I said in a LOUD voice: So, she just went in NAKED?!?!?!

AND, I got the nicest compliment at quilting today….Loree said she told her hubby that she was going to stop reading my blog. He was totally shocked and asked her why, and she replied ‘’because every time she posts a new quilt picture….I want to make it!’’ The current quilt obsession is the squiggle quilt…and I understand because I love it too!!! For those who are interested…I don’t have a pattern written yet….I made it up from looking at the picture, and it is very easy. I hope to eventually write up a pattern, but want to make it end up a bit bigger….so you can either wait until there’s a ‘’real’’ pattern….or just let me know and I’ll give you some general guidelines. I’m hoping it will be quilted by the end of the weekend…I bought a quilting pattern especially for the squiggle quilt and I’m hoping it will look as nice in person as it does in my head! I had to make sure to load my quilt backing in ‘’landscape’’ position and not ‘’portrait’’ so that the pattern would be running the direction that I want.

We had terrific show and tell at quilting:

Susie's mom made this, and it's reversible...same on front as back:

Then Susie made a monochromatic one:

and look at the totally cool, totally zippered ''change purse'':

Loree's Bento Box quilt top is finished except for borders...it looked so sharp while she was pressing it I just had to take a couple of pics:

When I got home around 1:30 PM, my honey made us a grilled ham/cheese sandwich that we split for lunch. I read my book for a bit and finally made it to the studio around 2:30 PM to get my blog out.

After that I got the squiggle quilt basted:

and loaded 8 new patterns onto my quilting computer.

I had a wonderful long talk with Mary Jo in the afternoon…I just HAD to call her after she left me a comment that she had never heard of ‘’head and shoulders, knees and toes (knees and toes)’’. PLEASE….somebody out there tell me that you knew what I was talking about with that?????? Anyway, we talked and talked and I was definitely smiling by the end….can’t believe I’ll see her in just 1-1/2 weeks!

Michael and I split another Cesar Salad for dinner before he left for rehearsal and I continued to work on the squiggle quilt…getting my pattern set up and bobbins wound. I posted something on FB because I had heard a rumor that I could up load a picture of my quilt and kinda see what the quilting would look like on it....but I didn't know how to do that. Within 5 minutes I had my answer, and I tried it out:

Not perfect, but a cool feature none-the-less.

By then it was 7:30 PM and Mary Lee and I settled in for a nice chat. We finished up just as Michael was calling to tell me he was on his way home.

Another picture from Michael's trip:

And who does this sound like????

*** I like to party....and by party, I mean stay at home and quilt! ***

*** Two blondes walk into a tanning salon. The receptionist asks, ‘’Are you two sisters?’’ They chuckle and reply, ‘’No…we aren’t even Catholic.’’ ***

Boy, that first thought of the day is really you!

Yes, I've heard of "head and shoulders, knees and toes.." There used to be a TV show for preschoolers that I watched with "Danny" every week day when he was maybe 18 months or 2 years. It had kids doing exercises like that and marching in a parade with musical instruments, etc. It was great for Danny and I as there were no children where we lived then and it gave him a chance to see other children and feel part of a group and it gave me a break from thinking cup things to do with him. As the other kids grew up that was one of the sing-song-exe…

I know the head and shoulders song. Used to sing it in grade school, I think 😁
