I hopped up at 6 AM again on Thursday (6/2) to make breakfast for my honey on day #2 of the tournament. After having breakfast myself, I packed the car and headed to CVS (to pick up a prescription) and to the library (here’s the latest outfit on the dog, dressed as a big shark):
before going to quilting. It seemed like a small group today, but still beautiful show and tell:
I left at 1:30 and stopped home to give Cookie a chance to pee before heading off to my diabetes coach. He is still very pleased with my progress….I’m continuing to lose weight and my fasting blood sugar is still looking good. We had a good chat and I got another new supplement before making it home just before 4 PM. My headache from yesterday had only gotten worse….there’s something going on with my nose and it felt like an ice pick going through my nose and right up into my brain, so I kind of dozed until it was time for dinner.
The guys got dinner as part of the tournament (Michael was partners with Doug, Paula’s husband), and this year the wives were allowed to join as well. With the recent spike of COVID cases here in SCCL and those cases centering around a previous golf gathering in particular…they allowed us to pick up our dinners and bring them home (to Paula’s house). I never expected all that we got…an appetizer of mozzarella cheese with balsamic glaze, sundried tomatoes and pistachios. For our main dish, I had the chicken with asparagus and mushrooms and rice, while Michael and Paula and Doug all got the salmon. Then there was dessert as well as a small bottle of champagne and a small box of chocolates! Everything was yummy, and afterwards we played a new game that my new friend Susan has loaned me for a couple of weeks (Down & Across). We think we need to buy this game and send it to the kids for Christmas!
We were home before 9 PM and Michael settled in to watch TV, while I got my blog out and then gathered together my rainbow heart quilts…you’ll have to stay tuned to see what is happening with them!
