Quilting was great on Thursday (4/3)…I finished off all of my blocks:

So, these will now come home to be laid out....and you know what else that means???? New project for next week!!!
I spent the last half hour of quilting writing out my cutting directions for the baby quilt I want to make for our glaucoma doctor…..I’m going to base it on that GREAT scrap block that Janice made when I was visiting her……

I can't wait!!!
We had lovely show and tell:
Judy made this in pottery and I begged her to bring it in to show....I LOVE the shape, it is just so beautiful!

-another one of Sandy's ''thousand pieces'' quilts! Even though those pieces are all about 1'' by 2'', Sandy's quilts are always a joy to longarm because they lie so flat...she really is an incredible quilter

-Linda is closing in on having 30 pillow cases done to donate....I think this one puts her in the high 20's about now....

and terrific food that I finally remember to get some pictures of (these were my oatmeal/jam squares...thanks Connie for the recipe!!!):

I did intake on another customer quilt in the afternoon, and got one loaded up just before dinner:

Friday (4/4) was all about the shots in my spine for my pain. I generally don’t mind shots at all…and I’ve had them in many places in my body (mouth, breasts, feet!!), but the thought of shots into my spine made me very, very nervous. My appointment was at lunchtime, and when she took my blood pressure before the shots, it was pretty high….this despite taking 2 valium in the morning! And guess what…..it turned out to be a non-event!!! Literally 6 seconds of pain (and that was from the 2 numbing shots) and I didn’t even feel the regular shots….in 5 minutes it was all over….whew!!!
Pam S had warned me (as these are the same type of shots that she gets) that I should take it easy for a day or 2, so I came home and read my book for a bit….then took a long nap….I think that was valium induced :~), then more reading until dinner. My blood sugar definitely spiked to a number I have never seen….so when I meet with my primary care doc on the 22nd of this month, I will discuss what options I have to control that if I ever get another one of these shots. (By Saturday morning I was back in a slightly higher than normal range, but nothing I haven’t seen before….whew! I know what I need to eat today to bring it back down.)
And since I don’t have any pics for Friday…..I have a few old ones. Remember the fabric I recently got at Laura’s house that she picked up from a quilter getting rid of stash? Well, she had it packed in a flat rate box….so once I got it out and all folded, I put the box on the floor…what is it with cats and boxes????

Saturday (4/5) was another day of rest for me, and a day of protest for Michael and lots of friends. While I stayed home, reading/knitting/getting caught up on emails/watching TV, he was in Rock Hill with loads of other Democrats, trying to wake people up to the fact that our rights are being eroded slowly and surely:

Freedom of Speech and Freedom of the Press have already had curtailment…what’s next?
Michael was home by 3:30 PM, with a box from Amelie’s (that his passenger kindly paid for!) and I can’t wait to eat my pecan tart sometime on Sunday. My blood sugar is back in the normal-for-me range, and I am very grateful!
And here's a cheery, Easter yard in Sun City:

*** Aging gracefully is like the nice way of saying you're slowly looking worse. ***
*** In high school I was so excited to become a senior.....I'm not so excited now. ***
*** Don't let your age get you down.....it's too hard to get back up again! ***
I love the two Teddy Bear quilts (of course) and the food looks so yummy! I hope you get some relief from your shot and am so glad it wasn't too bad. Love the Easter yard decorations!
Glad that shot wasnt so bad, hopefully you’ll get some relief! Just love sandys quilt and the one with ballons..so cute! Bet u filled your plate with carrot souffle…😊
I just love Sandy’s quilt, maybe I’ll cut some scraps and work on that….. Also the teddy bear and balloons quilt was really cute. Rick just went to a pain Dr to have nerve ablation on his C 2 & 3 discs.
I love the Scrappy Crossroads Block too. Have lots of squares saved for making that quilt one day. So glad your shot wasn’t too bad!
