The technicians were here before 7 AM on Wednesday morning (6/26) to replace our upstairs furnace and air conditioner. I’m really hoping that it gets cooler overnight so that we can open up the house and get all of the chemical smells out.
I worked on Teal Splendor for the rest of the afternoon, and the inside is all stitched together….that’s good because I’ll be out of the way ironing all of the seams open, while Janice is here quilting 2 QoV’s (she’s arriving on Thursday).

The technicians were back Thursday morning (6/27) to replace the furnace and air conditioning in the basement. I always assumed that the basement stuff would last much longer, because we do not use it nearly as much as the upstairs….but that was not the case :~(.
Anyway, Michael packed up my car and I headed out. I got so little sewing done at quilting it was pitiful….but I did get to talk to a lot of people and that was fun.
We had GREAT show and tell (thank you a thousand times to Carolina for taking pics for me!!!):
-luckily, Denise found iron on vinyl to protect these beautiful placemats
-check out June's free motion quilting....perfect!!!
-June is starting to dye fabric....these all started out as white and were dyed with onion skins
-this was NOT paper pieced.....it was hand pieced...and look closely.....all of those points are PERFECT!!
Janice arrived around 12:30 PM and I packed up my stuff and we headed to lunch at Indian Fusion:
OMWord…..heavenly!!! I haven’t been in forever because I don’t know many people who like Indian food….anyone else out there? We had a delightful lunch and headed home with leftovers for dinner some night.
Janice worked on loading up her first quilt and by the time we quit for the evening, it was done:
While she was loading I was ironing open the seams on Teal Splendor (and whining mightily the entire time!) and cutting and sewing together a small inner border for Teal Splendor:
*** It turns out that when asked who your favorite child is, you're supposed to pick out one of your own. I know that now. ***
*** It's fine to eat a test grape in the produce section, but you take one bite of rotisserie chicken and it's all, "Sir, you need to leave!" ***
Have fun with Janice !!
GO JUNE!!!!
The quilting from Show and Tell was OUTSTANDING! I really loved the first rainbow -colored quilt and the placemats! Lovely work from all! Hi Janice!
June’s quilting is phenomenal!
(I loved both of the jokes this morning!)
June’s free motion is wonderful. Wish I could be that precise
