OK.....ok....I bowed to pressure and got you all what you wanted:

Yes, that's the bell from the retreat :~).
**************************
Michael left for golf on Saturday (11/1) after a 1 hour frost delay, and I headed to the studio to get cracking. My #1 priority is to get a blue quilt (her favorite color), loaded and quilted on XENA, and into the mail for my friend in Connecticut with a glioblastoma.

I wanna pause here and talk about the ‘’gift’’ that Laura gave me on retreat. I have been looking for a ‘’spinny wheel’’ for over a month. It’s a wheel that you can enter different values on each of the pie wedges, and then spin it to see which wedge is chosen. I wanted to set it up mostly for quilt related tasks, but also put in a few things I don’t WANT to do, but SHOULD be doing. Well, she found me a wheel, and of course she found me a rainbow one:

and I filled out a lot of the wedges while on retreat. I couldn’t wait to get home and fine tune it with a few actual projects, rather than have a wedge that says ‘’work on current project’’.
Now, on a day like today I might not spin it at all, as I have a clearly defined task that is a priority to accomplish. Same thing when I have a customer quilt to get done…those always take priority over everything else. But, I hope to use on subsequent days….and I may post in the blog which selection has come up. I am inordinately happy about this wheel and EXTREMELY grateful that Laura was able to find a (free) one for me…and in just a minute or 2!!!! I felt like I wasn’t even describing it very well….but that didn’t matter to her….she found EXACTLY what I wanted :~), and she is my SHE-RO!!!!!!!
I quilted all day on the blue quilt, but there are 22 rows on this quilt, so I wasn’t even half way done when we got cleaned up, picked up Sandy and Pam and 7 of us met at EMMET’s in Waxhaw for dinner:

We had a wonderful time, before heading to the Storefront Theatre for MEAN LADIES….a great play that had its premiere with us! I think everyone had a good time, and it was lovely to have dinner and introduce the theatre to new people.
When we got home, we set back all of clocks and stayed up late getting caught up on episodes of THE GREAT BRITISH BAKING SHOW.

Sunday morning (11/2) was back to the ‘’grind’’ of quilting….while Michael made his beloved gas housers for breakfast. I finished off the quilting on Lynn’s quilt…and didn’t get anything else done while it was stitching out as I had to watch the underside closely to prevent pleats in this fleece…and all turned out well.

I got changed to head into Charlotte for THEATRE CHARLOTTE’s production of MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS. What a FABULOUS set and what a fabulous play, they had such a cool morphing video to show the actors:.
A young man, a sophomore in college sat next to me and we got to chatting. He had never heard of Agatha Christie (color me OLD!) and had no idea about what would happen in the play or who the murderer was….when it ended, he turned to look at me and said ‘’well, I never saw that coming!’’ I told him he should read the book before he wrote his report on the play, but he wasn’t sure he would have time before his paper was due.
It was dark by the time Michael and I made it home, and he wanted champagne and puffy things to celebrate my return from retreat….so that’s what we did….all the while watching 8 episodes of the MARY TYLER MOORE show.

I had an early morning routine doctor’s appointment on Monday morning (11/3). My doctor was pleased with my weight loss, and thrilled that I have brought my A1C (a measure of the sugar in my blood, related to my diabetes) down a bit. I got a flu shot while I was there, and was home by 10 AM.
I did intake from a new quilting customer, and she brought me 2 (TWO!!!) quilts to do! I spent the rest of the day getting the binding on one side of Lynn’s quilt:

We had Mexican Chicken Soup for dinner and got sucked in to watching 3 episodes of MATLOCK…..Kathy Bates really is an incredible actress.
And 10 years ago.....(including the days I was away at retreat)

Spinny Wheel! Wheeeeeeeeeee!!
I like the She -Ro comment!
