We slept in on a rainy, gloomy Sunday morning (12/17)….Michael said it was a perfect ‘’C&B’’ day……couch and book! He spent the day doing that….and I spent the day in my studio, working on my customer quilt…she wanted the same pattern on both of them….so it’s west wind in winter again:
By dinnertime, I was finishedwith the quilting. We watched THE SECOND BEST MARIGOLD HOTEL while we split a grilled ham & cheese sandwich for dinner.
And here’s the cast from Michael’s Saturday night murder mystery:

We hit the bank and dropped off goodies at the library Monday morning (12/18) before stopping at Hobby Lobby (got lots of supplies on sale!!!) and finally made it home at NOON. My honey made both of us smurfy breakfasts (my computer refused to let me spin this picture the correct way....weird!):
while I headed to the studio. I’ve been letting some things slide and decided I needed to get caught up. I finally got my FPF quilt all sewn together….but was procrastinating about pressing the seams open because it takes so long….especially when you are using the rounded stick….so I finally decided if I was careful, I could press without the stick. I got that done:
and got a border cut out and applied:
Now I just have to get the binding done. I spent the rest of the day getting my customer quilt cleaned up and trimmed:
and starting to put together my quilting statistics for 2023, as that is the last quilt I will be quilting :~).

I had an early morning PT appointment in Ballentyne for my back on Tuesday morning (12/19). The doctor thinks with some PT and regular exercise, I should be able to alleviate the pain in my lower back with (hopefully) no other intervention required. After a couple of stops on my way home (Biscuitville being one of them….yum…yum!!!) I was home by 11 AM and had time to put together another run of ham/cheese/poppyseed rolls before Pam picked me up for our Weaving Christmas party:
-Marilyn
-Pam
-Kathy & Rosalie
-Melanie
-Carol, our great hostess
We had a lovely, light luncheon…and exchanged the hand made Christmas cards we brought:
Then, Carol gave us a weaving talk and showed us many, many of her samples. I loved this woven painting:
I was home by 5 PM and my honey and I had a quick dinner, then he left for the movies and I knit the night away….will this shrug ever be done?!!?!?
And here's BG's Advent calendar for days 18 - 19 & 20:
It's 1967, HOLLYWOOD SQUARES is on…I'm 9 years old. My mom and dad are roaring with laughter and I don't understand what's so funny.
Q. Paul, why do Hell's Angels wear leather?
A. Paul Lynde: Because chiffon wrinkles too easily.
Q. Charley, you've just decided to grow strawberries. Are you going to get any during the first year?
A. Charley Weaver: Of course not, I'm too busy growing strawberries.
Q. During a tornado, are you safer in the bedroom or in the closet?
A. Rose Marie: Unfortunately Peter, I'm always safe in the bedroom.
Q. Can boys join the Camp Fire Girls?
A. Marty Allen: Only after lights out.
What’s FPF and round stick ironing? Also beautiful cards!
All of the Christmas cards are so beautiful and each one is unique. The woven painting is so lovely. I love watercolor paintings. Your customer's quilts are so festive!
