Theatre weekend

Saturday morning (1/20) was just another frustrating start to the day…I called my dealer (at his request) and we continued to trouble shoot my breakage problem. Just to give you an example…these are pictures of ONE row….and I didn’t even get pictures of ALL of the breaks on this small quilt:

And it will be interesting weaving these ends in, as I can't do it behind the white background fabric or the thread will show through. My dealer thinks the temp and lack of humidity are really affecting my thread….so I am waiting on the delivery of thread lubricant before I try to do anything else.

I spent the afternoon, cutting fabric for a bed quilt for the new bed:

I’ve really gotta get going on this….as BG is coming in April and we will each start another king-sized quilt….at this rate I won’t even have the first top put together!

Saturday night made up for all of my frustrations….we picked up Sandy:

-and have I showed you Michael in his boot?:

and headed off to Matthews for BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING STORY:

I cannot possibly, adequately describe this play….it was UNBELIEVABLE!!!!! The cast was HUGE and SO VERY TALENTED….every single one of them. All local talent and all VERY superior. And the play itself…..AWESOME!!!! Carole King was definitely one of the voices of my college years, and TAPESTRY is one of my favorite albums….but who knew how many other songs she wrote for various other performers….truly an incredibly talented and versatile woman.

We had a quiet morning on Sunday (1/21), then headed out to Monroe in the afternoon to see another play:

THE NIGHT OF JANUARY 16th, a courtroom drama . Michael was plucked from the audience to be a juror…it was a very unusual, but good play. We mostly went to see Mikayla, one of Michael’s fellow actors from THE OUTSIDER. He thought she was the only person in the cast we knew…but it turns out we knew 4 other people….one of whom was in HARVEY with both of us!

We picked up fish sandwiches from ARBY’s on the way home, and settled in to knitting and TV watching in the evening.

And Mary Jo sent this blast from the past pic...must have been rotel and Velveeta time at retreat:

-June, Leila, me, Janice

We must have played TAPESTRY a thousand times in our dorm room. WOW! That was a flashback! Those were the days.
