I left at 8:20 on Friday (8/20) for my PT appointment; while Michael was picked up shortly afterwards for breakfast with his LLB group. I stopped at Paula’s house on the way home to help her with some fabric. She’s decided to haul everything out of one of her storage closets:
to get her fabric more organized. I volunteered to come and help fold it because (believe it or not BG) it is even better than ripping napkins! I loved doing it.....it makes me feel so very satisfied to see those even stacks of fabric (thanks for introducing me to it June!!) We didn’t get through all of it by the time I left just before 1 PM, but we made a good dent in it:
I folded fabrics I DEFINITELY wanted to steal....but she was sitting right there so NO GO!!
After I got home, my first task was finishing the binding on the second side of my quilt….
you know what that means…another TOTALLY FINISHED QUILT:
Obviously this was a ''leftovers'' quilt....I found a bunch of double pinwheels in my orphan blocks box, and built a quilt around them. I think I ended up with a pretty nice quilt considering it was all made up :~).
Then I headed downstairs to get my blog out. As soon as that was done, I headed upstairs to make dinner. Now as usual, my freezer is totally full and I need to cook up some of the things in it. I took out 2 mystery packages a week ago. One turned out to be a hunk of cooked turkey….so I used that in our Thanksgiving-type dinner. The other package turned out to be 6 oz of feta cheese.
So, I sauteed a mess of onions:
-added in mushrooms
-and garlic
-and 3 different 'kinds' of tomatoes: tomatoes from the beach from our neighbor Joe, tomatoes from our pots in the backyard, and tomatoes from Loree's garden
-some leftover goat cheese that's been languishing in the cheese drawer
-my honey cooked some pasta
-and finally I stirred in all of the feta.....Michael said dinner was YUMMY!!
We found a holiday British Baking Show for our entertainment in the evening.

Apparently more than just Arizona Mary and Mary Jo wanted to know what 2 things my PT therapist said to me to make me feel better last Tuesday, so...
After I expressed the fact that I was feeling kinda blah about my recovery, she asks me how the binding went. Now, this is a non-quilter young woman who remembered that I said 2 weeks ago when I did binding, my arm was aching all the next day...but now that 2 weeks had passed, I was going to try it again. She made me realize that I've now bound 2 quilts with no aches or pains...so that was great. Then she also talked about how I am 10 weeks out now and the further I get away from the surgery, the smaller my improvements will be...but they are still happening. Both issues made me realize that I AM still getting better. I really like this young woman....
*** I’m not much on seizing the day…I just kinda poke at it with a stick. ***
